    Cheap American day laborers??!

Yesterday went to my local Home Depot, they have never had day laborers there before. Two white American guys were sitting at the tables in front, one was in his 30's, the other around 50. The 30ish guys says: "Hey boss, cheap labor here"! I wish I could have hired him, but I don't make much money now days either.

I also see white American guys like this riding bikes around collecting bottles and cans from trash cans for recycling money, they remind me of the Chinese riding bikes in China.

Every politician who opposes immigration law enforcement, and supports amnesty and mass immigration, needs to be tried for treason.

Yes, despite the killer heat I've been seeing lots of bicycle riders and walkers too. I know quite a few people who get paid less than minimum wage for their labor now. . . . citizens.

I've roofed some very Amazing buildings in my 26yr. profession, million dollar homes, churches,a lot of historical restoration. My apprenticeship was 7yrs. For a mean ol' German who was here on anchor baby status. I'm getting pimped out for day labor too. If I could get a job selling vacuums I would cause "This Sucks!"

How the hell did it happen Steve, I was swinging a 28oz Vaughn in the 70's and 80's. Framing, roofing, post and beam, footers, foundations, and drops.
The list goes on and on.
All the jobs from laborers to journeyman were American made.
All phases of trades were Americans, mostly my work was in Phoenix,
then some Colorado, and San Diego. Then back to A.Z. The best money was in A.Z. Not once, ever did I hear a foreign language on a job site. Never once. I met guy's and gals from all over the country that loved the trades and we were making a pretty damn good living too. Respected and middle class.
How the hell did the illegals push our kind of people out. Was there a war I did not hear about? I know for a fact no one on my crews would have let an illegal alien take their livelihood.
The late 80's early 90's I had a run of accidents along with injuries, surgeries
and career moves. Seems like next thing I know our trades and skills are considered jobs Americans won't do.
    What the hell happened.
I have a couple of weeks left on my current job and it will consist of 2 things
    1- Shoveling sand.
    2-Shoveling more sand.
One of my first jobs, early teens. 7th-8th grade. I dug the holes for below ground trash cans. Learned to read a 25' tape the boss gave me. Awesome day.
39 years later, trying to dig us out of another kind of hole.
Good luck to ya man. At least we still have a job. And that does not suck.

It was the easiest way to shut the illegals up! Give them all what they call "low skilled labor jobs" Funny thing though It's hard to be a well educated man if your books are all wet, makes turning the pages a bitch. And we were all under the impression gov. was doing it's job, we all had our heads down doing our jobs 40,60hrs. a week we just didn't see it coming, and this is not America's fault we voted for people we thought had our backs in congress. By the time we lifted our heads we were told "We no longer need your service" talk about gut shot. Sorry, I didn't reply sooner, while everyone's running around in cyberspace I'm crawling around here goin' "what, what the hell was that?"The depression, and self worth part of it, is what hurts the worst" I worked my ass off to be absolute best at what I do, only to be shoved aside by some illegal who learned what little he knows from watching me, and have had them tell me as they're watching me "I'm stealing with my eyes" Just because someone is illegal doesn't mean they're skilled in all walks of construction. It don't rain in mexico. I hope at least in Nov. we can slow the money monster down enough to plan our next move. What is cool though is hearing all of you guys cheer when we snatch a scrap from the monster. I'm just glad Alipac is here it's so much easier to deal with when you know you're not the only one who feels the effects of this invasion. And there are a lot of smart people here ,I know Obama sure wasn't expecting that. Thanks for knowin' airdale.

Airdale and Steve I wish you were here. Because I refuse to hire illegals on the project we are doing I was quoted $40 hr for construction - settled on $35 and for day labor was quoted $25 settled for $20. Problem with hiring off the street is insurance and being sued for any injuries. If you don't know the people you can end up with big lawsuits. I know a woman who hired an illegal and ended up with a million dollar lawsuit, because he said he hurt his back.

Thank you, we will pound away at this mess with a bigger hammer until
the federal shmucks do their job. And get local, county and state to get with
    the enforcement program.
Take care freind, and hang in there.

It is beyond me why anyone would want to let an illegal build their homes. We did a lot of research and talked to a lot of builders before we decided whom we would let build our home. It wasn't the cheapest. Cost us about $30,000 more. And our builder knew that if anyone came on our property and spoke anything other then English they'd all be fired. If anyone had an accent I better be able to check and see if they were legally in our country. Yep, in my contract it said any workers, be they my builder or his subs had to be American.
A lot of people said we were wrong to do that. They told us Mexicans in particular do a great job and better then most Americans. I wanted to wash their mouths out with soap. I told them they are anti American if they actually mean that. Any extra buildings we have done are done by Americans, with American products, on my American land.
When I had to get new tires, I was pretty aggressive about where they came from. I told them if they put any Chinese crap on my vehicle I would go after them where it hurt. So many people that were waiting went up and demanded the same thing.
We need to stand together. I would rather pay twice as much for things made in America and put an American to work. Don't even tell me Mexicans take pride in their work. I had black and white workers here and I couldn't of been happier with the jobs the did. We are friends now and we stand for a common cause.
I'm so sorry this is happening to so many people. I fight every day and try to do what is best for me, my fellow Americans and my country.
I don't have a lot of money. We've worked hard all our lives for every single thing we have. No handouts. And I am proud of my American made home!

My father was the manager of a lumber company and I grew up around the building trade. I remember as a child walking through new construction with my dad. In the 70's due to the military I lived in El Paso, I remember the shock of walking through houses there and how poorly they were built. You know the electrical box right in the middle of a wall in the master bedroom. Even at that young age I knew the difference between poor and quality work. I will stick with Americans, thank you.

Do not tell anybody, I would hate to be accused of cheering us on.
But I am proud to fight this battle with you guy's and girls.
    Not necessarily in that order.
