Update on Dream Act Amnesty from Roy Beck NumberUSA

    From: Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA
    Date: Thursday 2DEC2010 10 a.m. EST

    Congratulations again.

All of you responded yesterday with a barage of phone calls and faxes to the reports from the House that Democratic leaders were looking to bring up the DREAM Act amnesty vote on the floor of the House today.

House leadership this morning is now talking about having the vote early next week.

As I have said repeatedly, when you have a crowded tiny calendar like the one for this Lame Duck, every delay is a victory.

That said, we are still in grave danger of losing the amnesty vote in the House.

We asked you yesterday to phone your own Representative. If you haven't done that yet, please do.

But you are also asking about which Members hold the key.

The answer is that we have to get at least 40 NO votes from the following list of 80 Democrats.

The Democrats in this list are almost the only Democrats we could possibly get to vote against the amnesty. They are the ones who have opposed the Party open-borders leadership at least half the time.

What is scary is that a lot of them are retiring and don't have the same fear of future elections that may have helped them be mediocre to good on immigration in the past.

You can reach all of these Members through the Capitol Switchboard:

If you post on the announcements screen under William's target dems we will be able to keep score better on who is for and who is against.
