LOL
(Breitbart) Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers during a riot at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba revealed that McIver was being charged. Noem noted that “no one is above the law.”
The announcements of the charges against McIver come after Reps. McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D) showed up at Delaney Hall to “conduct federal oversight” of the facility and allegedly stormed and trespassed. Baraka ended up being arrested for alleged criminal trespass.
They have lots of video of this, so, should be interesting. Should be interesting to see what kind of circus McIver brings when she turns herself in. You know she wants that. It’ll probably involve claims of raaaaacism. The charges against Baraka have been dropped
(NY Times) In a statement on Monday, Ms. McIver blamed federal law enforcement for instigating the clash, saying that “ICE agents created an unnecessary and unsafe confrontation.”
“The charges against me are purely political — they mischaracterize and distort my actions, and are meant to criminalize and deter legislative oversight,” she said.
Yeah, sweety, there’s video of your actions. But, Dems cannot complain after all the lawfare against Trump and people who worked for him. And, really, oversight doesn’t involve getting in the faces of federal agents doing their jobs.
Now we await all the screeching opinion pieces from the same outlets who cheered the Biden admin going after Trump.
