(NATIONAL) -- Could it be the U.S. government thinks peaceful, civilian protest against government is fine on the streets of Cairo, Egypt but not on U.S. soil?

As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave a speech at George Washington University yesterday condemning governments that arrest protestors and do not allow free expression - and lauding freedom of speech on the Internet - 71-year-old military veteran Ray McGovern was grabbed from the audience in plain view of her by police and an unidentified official in plain clothes and hustled out of the building and, according to McGovern and his supporters, was “brutalized and left bleeding in jail.â€

Just possibly we will be hauling Clinton's ass as well as others in this administration out just like that. That is exactly why they are afraid of us all. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Exactly what the veteran was protesting remains to be seen. His protest was silent and in the form of simply standing in an audience Clinton was addressing with his back towards her.

Here's the deal with me on this: ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE MORE RIGHTS THAN AMERICAN CITIZENS DO! They openly demonstrate BY THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS in this country and NOT ONE OF THEM GETS ARRESTED!

And ... they are NOT EVEN CITIZENS.

If this were my father, the ones that handled him would pay a heavy price.........

Funny that dirt bags like Ayers and his wife who used to set off bombs and rob banks are now in the inner seats of power but here a old guy vet gets beat up merely for showing his contempt for the whole system. If the cops keep this abuse up we will eventually return the favor on them. Not a nice situation to contemplate. Worst part of this is that with the patriot act this guy can be charged with terrorism and simply disappear. Thank you Bachmann and the rest of the dim wits that voted to extend it.
