Veteran Immigrants
I'am getting sick of the Senate talking about all of these immigrants
like they were illegal aliens. They joined our military in hopes of citizenship. They are trying to become Americans legally. There are no illegals in the military.
I know I can't spell,I get so mad my fingers work faster than my brain

On this, I would have to agree with you. I feel if a person cares enough about our country to fight, bleed and die for it then they should win their citizenship automatically! I think our congress should mandate if illegals wanted to join our armed services and give 4 yrs of service to our country it should be there country also! Tellyou something else I think all these gang members should be rounded up and either forced to join the armed services or be ready for deportation, pretty radical I guess but these times call for radical thinking!Build the dam fence post haste!

I disagree with making people join that don't want to be Americans. Why give them the best military training in the world. They would turn our military into a bunch of scum bags,But I do not have a problem with someone honestly joining as a path to citizenship.I meet 6 or 7 people trying to get citizenship while I was in and they loved the US and wanted to be a part of it.

I think it has always been the policy to give citizenship to a foreigner who enlists and honorably serves this country. At least it was during the 50's.
As to the illegals in the military - forgive me if I am a little doubtful there. I will keep an open mind.
Nitty - be careful what you wish for. Suppose some dictatorial President in the near future decides he wants to turn the military on the American population. Do you want a military filled with foreign gang members - I don't.
That is exactly what I thought about when I read about this President giving citizenship to a large number of members of the military. Personal army???Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

What if you sent the military to the border to defend you and then they turned around?

You are right gal, please disregard my previous post, sometimes I write faster then I think!
I would not really want gang members there who didnt want to be there, could do more harm then good to our soldiers, I just hate seeing a bunch of idiots fighting in the streets hurting innocent people, maybe we could find them their own island somewhere and get them off the streets. Thanks nntrixie for setting me straight.

I will take that chance. If they are willing to put on the same uniform I wore, go to fight for this country and watch my back. Then by God they get the front of the line.>>>
I will take a back seat to no one in my love and respect for the American military. All the male members I have personally known, of my family have been in the military - some wartime and some peacetime. Two of my ancestors fought in the Rev. War - so there is no way you are going to hear me speaking disparagingly of the mililtary.
B the way, my father guarded the Mexico border during WWII - so I know it is possible.
But- we are not talking about the ways things have been in the past.
Never, ever, would I have believed that thousands of foreigners who had invaded this country would be allowed to march in the street, carrying foreign flags, using the American flag as a baby blanket, and threatening and demanding.
Never, ever, would I have believed our President and congress would champion the cause of said invaders over that of Americans.
Never, ever, would I have believed that local law enforcment would see someone breaking the law and say, 'that's an illegal - I don't do immigration.'
So, forgive me, I if I am skeptical - we are dealing with a group, both Americans and not Americans, to whom oaths, citizenship and allegiances mean nothing.
I will keep an open mind - but I will also keep my eyes open.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
