VICTORIES IN UTAH AND MISSISSIPPI!!!! :-)

This is posted in Announcements as well. I am posting it here to make sure everyone gets a chance to see it!

    Friends of ALIPAC,

We have great news to report! The hard work of our friends on the ground and ALIPACers from around the nation has led to victories for our cause in Mississippi and Utah! The illegal alien supporting groups are NOT HAPPY TODAY!

Special thanks to UFIR, MFIRE, and CCII for their great work on the ground in these states. Two bills are now headed to the Governor of each state. We have included links to their sites at the bottom of this message. Please contact these groups to thank them for their hard work and to offer your support.

    Utah

The Governor of Utah originally threatened to veto our bill, the bill passed with veto proof margins and he is now expected to sign SB 81.

SB81, sponsored by Sen. Bill Hickman, R-St. George, incorporated several measures already introduced by lawmakers and, after a few amendments, won veto-proof majorities in the House and Senate. Among other things, it would make it a Class A Misdemeanor to conceal, harbor, transport or shelter undocumented immigrants but an amendment was made to exempt charitable or humanitarian assistance. It would take effect July 2009.

HB171 would bar people who sell alcoholic beverages from accepting driving-privilege cards as evidence of a person's age and gun dealers from accepting them as a form of identification. It also would require the Driver License Division to suspend a driving card if a person's vehicle registration is revoked.

Please call Governor John Huntsman, Jr at 801-538-1000
800-705-2464 to say "I look forward to Governor Huntsman signing Utah's immigration enforcement bills passed by large majorities in the state legislature."

    Mississippi

Senate Bill 2988, approved overwhelmingly by House members Wednesday, is headed to Governor Barbour for his consideration. If approved, it would require employers to use an online database to determine whether potential workers are U.S. citizens.

Companies would have to use eVerify, a federal pilot program that is voluntary. It accesses Social Security and federal immigration records, but critics say it sometimes provides inaccurate information.

Please call Governor Haley Barbour at 1-877-405-0733 or 601-359-3150 to say "I'm looking forward to hearing that Governor Barbour has signed the Mississippi Senate bills that crack down on illegal immigration."

    ----

Much more to do in Mississippi and Utah!

While these bills are a great leap forward for our movement and likely to get illegal aliens on the move out of Utah and Mississippi, we did not get all we wanted. The pro illegal alien groups and state Chambers of commerce pushed back many provisions.

We ask that ALIPAC supporters in these states unify with our allied groups and immediately begin planning for the next session of the state legislature.

The momentum is on our side and we must push to strengthen these laws and pass more to close the gaps we could not close this year.

    ----

Our ALIPAC Strategies work, especially when we work closely with great groups on the ground in the states.

Time is running out! There will be a push for Amnesty in DC soon to try and stall the states.

Please be ready for our next state alert and stand ready to take immediate action.

For now, please visit our state campaign directory and take action in the states listed there at this link...

The worst thing is if we have any federal "immigration reform" which is a code word for stopping deportations. This is the rush to stop states from making laws which they are suppose to do.There are few laws the fore fathers meant wanted the federal government to install or enforce. We could make points that states are suppose make laws to stop illegal immigration under the assumption that the federal government has decided by its obvious lack of enforcement that they(federal government) have interpreted the constitution to mean it is the states job.We don't now nor will we have an friend in the white house no matter what we do now.We can put our efforts to increase our numbers in house and senate.

Then there will have to be new laws that say NO BENEFITS TO NON-CITIZENS PERIOD.

yep, we need to start working now even if the elections are a couple of years away in some districts to get good people to fill the void like in Feinstein and Boxers seats.
