Thread: Warning: Type of Amnesty hidden in NDAA headed to Senate

Last week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 7900, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Unfortunately, the House added a provision that would grant amnesty to certain adult children of temporary guest workers who will soon lose legal status.

The Ross/Miller-Meeks amendment, which was approved and added to the final version of the bill, would allow children who are over the age of 19, but not yet 21, to stay and work in the United States after their 21st birthday. The Migration Policy Institute estimates that this would reward approximately 190,000 adult children of temporary guest workers with an amnesty.

While the provision is NOT in the Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act, GOP Senators need to resist the special interest lobbying efforts that are urging Senators to include the provisions in their version of NDAA. Adult children of temporary workers currently have all the same legal immigration options available to any other alien seeking to remain in the United States and should have no expectation of a green card based on the temporary status of their parents.

Please call your GOP U.S. Senator(s) and urge them to resist the special interest lobbying calls and keep ALL immigration amendments out of the NDAA, especially during a border crisis.
