October 9, 2007 – State Senator José M. Serrano (D-Manhattan/Bronx) says it is unconscionable that in the 21st Century a small number of anti-immigrant extremists are still stoking the public’s fears with false and misleading claims about undocumented immigrants obtaining driver’s licenses.

"I applaud the Governor for his commitment to implement a plan for New York to be a safer place to live and drive," said Serrano. "This new driver’s license policy will strengthen our homeland security through expanded record-keeping and improved verification. It will also save New York drivers an estimated $120 million by lowering the costs associated with uninsured drivers."

Our roads will be less safe. Some things said here are amazing. Drivers license will give people access to airplane. You can fly with foreign passport and nothing more. No connection between terorrism, aliens and drivers licenses.
