American's across this nation have a lot more tools to use against this invaison then they know. We need to learn our local and state laws and ordinances. We need to learn who is responsible and enforces those laws and ordinances.

Over and over I read blogs about the destruction of our cities and countryside. The outrage of driving through our countryside and the waste we see of our rural communities.

We have local, state and national ordinances. We need to study up and learn what those ordinances are. There are building ordinances, safety ordinances, animal ordinances, air pollution ordinances, noise ordinances and even nuisance ordinances.

Unfortunately Law unforcement is not up on most ordinances and don't enforce the ordinances but every county in California has a Code Enforcement Department.

Go to your county's government website and you usually can find the ordinances (generally they are in the Building Department section).
That is also where you can find the phone numbers for Code Enforcement.

You see filth, unsanitary conditions, wiring strung from unit to unit. Abandoned cars etc. You call code enforcement.

Most counties and cities also have ordiances about how many people can occupy specific dwellings. Police don't enforce this, but code enforcemet will.

Instead of just complaining about conditions that we see and think is wrong we need to start taking action.

You can place annoymous calls with your complaints. Or you can send in pictures and complaints. Just make sure you have the address of the property you are complaining on.

Code Enforcement will redtag a place if it is unhabitable or unsafe. If there are minor violations they will give them 30-90 days to come up to code. If they ignore the citations and do not bring the property up to code it can go to court and even become a felony.
