Why attack the "foot soldiers", go after the gener

My concern is really with the policies of two governments involved here, the first and foremost is the inability of ours to properly police and enforce the laws of immigartion and transborder movement. The second one simply exploits this laxness and has a release valve for its poorest citizens ( mostly unskilled ) to come to el Norte. This coupled with argicultural and hospitality economies that rely and factor in this illegal workforce into their profit strucutures, you have got the situation we are in today. I am not really going to fault folks who looking for a better lives for themselves or their families. Especially after seeing the ugliness in NOLA these past two weeks, we have got enough home-grown ugliness to worried about to go off and start scapegoating other groups.

You want to fix the problem, its going have to start at the top.

Well, unless you change the incentive structure I am not sure how you'll influence behavior...

Unfortunately, once the illegals gain a foothold, there are no jobs for teens, either. Remember when the teens used to do the farming jobs for summer money? Isn't that the reason NC and several other states have odd school years? Who does those jobs now?
True, I grew up in a farming environment. From what I see back home, those summer jobs the kids had on the farm to make some money has been gobbled up by immigrants.

    Still being over-run

I noticed about a year ago that young, Hispanic looking dudes were driving better automobiles than me and my wife. They drive around the neighborhood (trailer park) with open windows blaring mexican music. Then, I noticed cars parked all over the yards, not just the allowed 2 per driveway. Then, I start seeing the kids getting on the school bus with my kid. 20 or 30 at the bus stop. I keep seeing all of the brand new SUVs and pickup trucks (one even has a Hummer) and I keep thinking to myself that something is wrong with this sight picture. I was laid off in 2001 just before the terrorist attacks and I have not been able to find a full time job yet. Just temp agency and contract stuff in between unemployment (when I qualify) but I keep seeing more and more brand new SUVs and pickup trucks coming into the trailer court. How can that be? That is when I googled illegal mexicans and found all of the unsatisfied among us out there. I am now ready to become a thorn (the size of a Rhino horn) in the side of some stupid politicians. Let's give them hell, folks. [mod edit] Your friendly, neighborhood jarhead

Namvet, one of the first things illegals do when they come to America is to buy a new car. So when GWB said, "just good people coming to put food on the table", I really had to laugh.

They're coming for the car, George Bush!! And you know it!!! Car first, house second, and that just makes your day. Mr. President, I'm beginning to think that you must lie awake at night thinking up plans on how to destroy our country. Isn't that what the terrorists do?? Hmmm.

Just good people coming to put food on the table, yea on the new table in their new house, which they drove in their new car to buy. AND THEY"RE NOT LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS

THAT"S THE PROBLEM WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT
