What Americans Say About Illegal Aliens Working US Jobs

What Americans Say About Illegal Aliens Working US Jobs

    By Frosty Wooldridge
    9-22-11

Americans vent their frustrations in letters to the editor in every single newspaper across America. Those letters give a sense of frustration as to the 15 million unemployed Americans while 8 to 10 million illegal aliens enjoy full time jobs because Congress and Obama won't enforce our laws.

Ironically, with 43 million Americans subsisting on food stamps because they don't have jobs, the press and other liberal media write sob stories about illegal aliens until Americans just want to vomit their lunch. As shown by Barack Obama this past month, he refuses to enforce immigration laws, which in turn, makes America's working poor, unskilled and uneducated even less likely to find jobs.

A recent survey in Texas showed that 81 percent of the jobs during the past year in Texas were taken by legal and illegal immigrants. Rick Perry has nothing to brag about.

You may possess your own frustrations that coincide with the ones herein:

Journalists err in portraying illegal immigrants as victims

Dear Editor: The headline on Pat Schneiders June 24 column, "Is immigration law about to bring Wisconsin Arizona-style notoriety?" is misleading. It should read something like, Is Wisconsin about to join Arizona in protecting American workers?, because that is why we have immigration laws in the first place.

But biased journalists like Schneider, who insist on portraying illegals (and their employers) as victims, and who give unlimited space to grassroots groups like Voces de la Frontera and others who aid and abet illegal aliens but ignore the voices of pro-enforcement advocates, cant be bothered with all the facts surrounding the immigration issue.

Perhaps only when an illegal alien like the Pulitzer Prize-winning Jose Antonio Vargas shows up at the Capital Times and offers to do Schneiders job for a lesser salary will she finally see who the real victims of illegal immigration are.

No respect for rule of law

Dear Editor: This past week, there was a Senate illegal alien packed hearing in another attempt to promote the Dream Act ---an amnesty for an estimated 2 million illegal aliens under the age 35. At the same time, the sob stories in favor of these illegal aliens, such as the July 3 article Immigration and Independence Day by Betsy O`Donovan, have become even more pervasive in the mainstream media. It seems that every year there is a push to turn the 4th of July into Immigration Day as the open border advocates try to advance their agenda.

In the interest of informing readers, the media should mention that this past week, Obamas Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) director, John Morton, issued a memo to ICE to use prosecutorial discretion in dealing with potential deportations by instructing ICE to ignore illegal aliens except when dealing with those who are convicted felons. This end run around Congress is at the expense of American students, American workers, and our legal immigrants who have been waiting in line for years in order to come here legally. More profoundly and with serious ramifications, Obamas ICE directive totally ignores the rule of law. Jan Touma ,Durham, N.C.

Why it makes sense to dash Marylands Dream Act

Dear Editor: Many well-educated elites with good-paying jobs, such as college presidents, legislators and newspaper editors, invariably can only see the benefit of expanded immigration and legalizing illegal workers, as was made clear by the July 14 editorial In Maryland, a referendum on a dream, supporting in-state college tuition for illegal immigrants.

Economists are fond of saying, There are winners and there are losers. When it comes to immigration, those who hire immigrants to clean their houses, mow their lawns and paint their nails are the winners. They dont compete with immigrants for jobs or wages. Immigrants are not flooding the labor markets of college presidents or newspaper editors. Those who compete with immigrant labor minorities, the working poor, low-skilled workers and the young are the losers. And the losers are more numerous than the winners. And thats why it was easy to get signatures on a petition calling on Maryland voters to decide whether they wanted to give in-state tuition to illegal immigrant youth.

With growing unemployment today, including among recent college graduates, passing the Dream Act defies common sense, and the common people know it. Jonette Christian, Holden, ME.

This coming year in American History may very well be the worst year our Country has ever faced, This President hates America, and will spend his last year as President causing so much damage that it very well may take years to recover from it, if congress can't stop it then "We the People" need to do everything we can to slow it down! It's sad that we not only have to spend our time stopping a mad man, but also have to waste time campaigning against our own party candidates!

With all of the enthusiastic, environmentally conscious college students that we have in our state, you would think that tree planting jobs in commercial forests would rank near the top in jobs for college students.

No---instead this is left largely to migrant immigrant farmworkers who then are organized by community organizers to press for further demands.
