What happens when the caravan gets to Mexico? Are the Mexicans changing their minds

What happens when the caravan gets to Mexico?

Are the Mexicans changing their minds about illegal immigration?

    January 17, 2019
    By Silvio Canto, Jr.

We will know very soon. The latest caravan crossed into Guatemala, according to news reports:
About 500 people, including dozens of children, lined up to show their documents to a first line of unarmed security personnel at the Agua Caliente border crossing Tuesday night. Riot police formed a second line to contain any possible disturbance.
Edilberto Hernandez, a former police officer, stood with his wife and four children to cross into Guatemala. After losing his job, he could find only low-paid construction work, and he decided to travel with his whole family to the United States.
So what happens to Edilberto, wife, and kids when they reach Mexico?
According to other news reports and my own conversation with Mexicans in Mexico, there is no appetite to admit more "caravans":
Juan Palomina remarked: “Now look, let’s see if whacko [Mexican President} Lopez Obrador mobilizes the Marines and keeps these idiots from coming to Mexico. Give them enough to eat, at least.”
Some urged the migrants not to be blindly optimistic.
“People of Honduras, all of you who are spinning these grand illusions and getting ready to come on this caravan and in any future others, before you leave your country, please inform yourself about how people who’ve already come on previous caravans are faring in Tijuana,” said Belem Gonzales.
“Mexico is just like your country,” Gonzales added. “There are many problems and needs, and you’re not going to be much better off than you were in Honduras. Please don’t trust these manipulative agitators who are encouraging you to risk everything for nothing.”
Luis Mendez was far more unwelcoming. “We do not want caravans of (emojis of rats). Fight conditions in your own country. You are not welcome here.”
By Tuesday afternoon, a caravan that started with about 500 people grew to about 2,000, according to a representative from the Honduras National Commission of Human Rights, which travels with the caravan.
I cannot say whether these views represent a majority opinion. I have no scientific survey to link to. Nevertheless, I am hearing the same thing from friends and business associates.
After a few phone calls, I've concluded that Mexicans are sympathetic or understand that the violence is driving people out. At the same time, they don't like their country to act as "el camino" the highway, to the U.S.
What will President Lopez-Obrador do? He has to block the caravan or face serious political backlash. Lopez-Obrador is already at war with his countrymen over gas shortages. He does not need another headache!

It is expensive to live in the USA...we do NOT want them either. No free stuff, no school or medical care for illegals!

They stuff 20 people into one single family home and ICE needs to go in, round them up, and deport them.

They are destroying our neighborhoods with overpopulation and overbreeding. They bring their criminal relatives, gangs, drugs and their problems FOLLOW them here!

They get on welfare and food stamps, live off OUR backs for cheap, split the rent with several people and then send their $50 billion back over the border!

NO ASYLUM...SEND THEM ALL BACK HOME!

BLOCK THE CARAVAN...MEXICO DOES NOT WANT THEM...USA DOES NOT WANT THEM!

The home countries have to solve this if they want to continue to have good relations with the US as in trade and aid. Put it all on the line. These are their citizens, they are their responsibility, not ours. These countries want to prance around like big dogs with their sovereign nations, their democratic governments, their seats at the UN, their Commissions on Civil Rights, and all the other globalist boom-bah, yet they can't even provide a safe country with enough jobs for their populations, then want to parasite and mooch off other countries like low-life beggars and thieves.

NO RESPECT FOR THESE OUTFITS. They're low-lifes and we don't want anything to do with them until they straighten up and act like responsible self-sustaining people.

Their has been a lot of Western Hemisphere initiatives in the past. Time for some new ones to deal with Central America. It should not all be up to the US.

Yes, but the most important initiative is for these stupid Hondurans to fix their own problems. Problems in countries are caused by people of those countries, their own citizens, it's their responsibility to initiate their own solutions to the problems their own citizens cause to begin with. And guess what? Most of those bad lazy dudes are the scum invading 3 countries to enter the US as illegal aliens and asylum seeking frauds. This behavior didn't start with a decision to invade the US, they've been breaking every law on the books in Honduras most of their lives, so they are the problem Honduras and other Central American countries must fix.

"Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who took office Dec. 1, has said that the migrants would be welcome and have the opportunity to gain legal residency and work permits in Mexico if they chose to remain in this country...

The plan was for caravan members to be transported to shelters in the border area. They would probably remain in the shelters for five days until their immigration paperwork was ready, allowing them to travel legally in Mexico...

This time, however, there was no need for the caravan travelers to try and sneak into Mexico via the river."

Obrador knows darn well they will not stay in Mexico!

Trump … give them NO money!

They are pouring over our border and the next 100 caravans will do the same!

Shut that border down and keep them all out.

Mexico is not our friend or our ally...corrupt liars!

If they have jobs for them then THEY should process them at their southern border, find out their skills, load them on buses DIRECTLY to work in their country!

They have no money and want a job...Mexico can bus them directly to their job sites and put them to work immediately!
