Thread: What really is Progressive Democrats?

I guess I am so furious because I have always considered myself an intelligent person; but this one slid right by me. I know for a fact that there are a lot of people out there like me that as of yet have not caught on to what has been pulled.

You know the people that are so busy trying to survive that they are not aware of what is going on. I hope it is not to late for us Americans to wake up and stop this farce.

My grandaughter is going to Sonoma State which I found via the internet to be a breeding ground for the PDA.

She told me in her philosophy class they were throwing out ideas to debate on and when the professor threw out the point that Obama was a lousy president, she spoke up and said she was for that one, everyone in the class turned and gave her a dirty look.

The only thing I hope is that more democrats wake up and realize that our party has been taken over by the PDA. Something has to be done, they need their own party instead of depending on the votes of old fashioned democrats.

I am going to get a fist full of registration forms, so that I can vote in the primaries against progressive democrats and then change my party back and forth. I will start spreading the word about this.

I was so busy focusing my attention on the destruction of California by the Hispanic Democrats in our government giving all our social services to illlegals, but now I think it is even a bigger picture. I don't know if this was a way to get us to focus on one thing, but I really think it all ties in.

These two are not responsible for "progressives" preferring illegals over Americans. The problem is that we have focused on shortcomings and pandered to demographics rather than stressing the primacy of being Americans and insisting that public policy support Americans first in this magnificent country.

Progressives are like chameleons, they change their colors when it is advantageous to do so. The ends justifies the means. This is also why they will not hesitate to eat their own.

They appear to be the worst kind of liars with no conscience .

I believe our language is being butchered by political language. The term progressive is a good word in our language that means exactly what it says in the definition you read and posted. The word progressive is not a dirty word, it does not apply to Democrats, Socialists, Globalists, Republicans or belong to Glenn Beck to throw around. People can use the word progressive like most any word in our language to camouflage their goals and agenda, distort its meaning by incorporating it into their propaganda as well as use it appropriately to represent policies and actions that improve life in our country for our people.

During the past few years, I've observed the use of politics and political speak to destroy our language. I think as Americans we should hang tough and defend our language along with defending our nation, because without a language that we all understand where the true definitions of the words are consistent with our proper use of them, our country will become even more divided, confused and manipulated than it already is.

Had they called themselves by the proper terms in our language, they would have called themselves the socialist-authoritarians they really are, but that wouldn't sell votes, so they took a good word and used it to label their organization to sell an agenda that is the complete opposite of what the definition of the word progressive actually means in our language.

You have defended words with a positive connotation. Do you also defend the use of words that have been twisted to having a negative connotation as well? With no negative there is no positive. This is the beauty of freedom of speech. Some words are neither positive, nor negative, merely descriptive. While a thin skin may take offense, they are often the first to run for the pc shelter.

Those that wish to spin, also wish to control what words can be used, as well as, what words cannot.

I do not believe that Glenn Beck is throwing around the word "progressive." He is merely pointing out that the word has been hijacked. Those that have hijacked the word will run for cover and morph into another positive connotative word, try and whitewash their image, and rise again from the very sludge which they originated from.

Oh yes, that is what they do. But we can't allow them to hijack our language and turn good words like the word progressive into a dirty word. Our response should be not to acknowledge them as progressives because that insults the people who really are progressives, the people who founded our country, developed it, built it up, farmed it, liberated it, economized it and make it the greatest country in the world. It's not right to allow people trying to destroying our country to cop the very word that accurately describes the people who built it.

See my point? My point is we want Americans to be progressive, to always be working towards a better way, a better system, a better machine, a better technology, a better home, a better life. That's our American Dream. We don't want people to cower and hide from wanting to improve things, because that's our American Spirit. We want our children and future generations to continue searching and working for the improvements and amelioration of our businesses, work places, infrastructure, transportation systems, machinery and equipment, homes, cars, mannerisms, communications, art, medicine, music, school, education, leisure and all the numerous other aspects of our lives and environment. But what most of us want is for our people to do that through the private sector and their own personal initiatives in their own private lives and work places, not through the government, with rare exception.

The word Progressive in our language is a good word, because it describes all the courage, bravery, vision, ingenuity, sacrifice and achievement of the American People, with rare exception.

We need to take the word back not shade it as a negative characteristic and we need to put those who are not actually progressive that we aren't going to let them steal words from our language to pervert them.

The group of people you're talking about who have hijacked the word progressive aren't only turning the word progressive into a dirty word, they're turning everything America stands for into dirty words, and they must be stopped.

roundabout and Judy I agree with both of you. You are both absolutely right. Sometimes I feel like I am in the twilight zone.

It seems like everything I learned in school; history, the meaning of words all have been changed. And even as I write this, in Texas they are trying to change what can be put in text books.

The President keeps going on about lack of communication. Well, as long as parts of our history are erased and meanings of words are changed things are only going to get worse.

I feel like hiding all of my old books before they are confiscated.
