Heated Letter to Sen. Gordon Smith (R) Oregon

This is my rather heated email to Gordon Smith. He has tried to ride the fence on this issue, but it just will not work, Oregonians are really tired of this career politician who refuses to do his job.

    To: Gordon Smith,

I am hoping that at some point, you as my Republican representative, would want to actually represent the will of the voters (that is me, not the illegal aliens in this state) by not only voting for border enforcement, also employer sanctions to stem this major problem that is illegal immigration.
These people are not "undocumented workers", they are here illegally. This is so painfully clear that I am surprised you have to be reminded of that. ILLEGAL.

Now, they are marching in our streets, demanding "rights" of citizens and "justice" for their situation, to which the only justice they are entitled to is deportation.

Oregon is literally going down the toilet because of politicians that cannot get off the fence and start doing their job, the job WE AMERICANS/OREGONIANS have voted you all in for.

Again, we have had a budget shortfall, why? Because we are letting the illegal aliens use their Matricula Consula cards to get licenses, then they use that to go and get state benefits for their families. Yes, they are living in poverty, but you know what Senator Smith, so is my family, we live on $11.36 hourly. We must homeschool our kids because our schools are so overburdened with the huge number of illegal children and "anchor babies". Our children were getting left behind.

When will you start standing up for Oregonians instead of illegal aliens and special interest groups that represent illegal aliens? When will people like myself be able to do more than survive, considering the depressed wages? We want to be able to have a home of our own, although illegal aliens seem to have no problem getting loans through HUD and such, thanks to Wells Fargo.

Elections are coming and Oregonians are weary of this issue being ignored by our state government and our federal government, we will vote accordingly, we will make sure that those with a record of caving in to special interests, instead of citizens interests, will no longer hold their positions. It's as simple as that. I read that Jim Ludwick of Oregonians for Immigration Reform could not get you to give him a straight answer, one time. Skirting around the issue will no longer work.

AmericanElizabeth, that is an outstanding letter and I hope he listens. Call his office and follow up to make sure there is a staffer that has addressed your letter.

He needs to know the hard time and hard choices Americans like your family are having to make because of illegal immigration.

Keep up the great work!! I hope your kids know how lucky they are to have parents like you and your husband.

My son lived in Portland a year ago. Said it has the highest unemployment rate in the nation. Was there one year and could not find any work at all, not even washing dishes. So he moved.

    Good letter

Jezzabell, it is the highest. Because we are mainly an agricultural economy, the illegals have taken all the jobs that either the high school kid, or the college age had. The illegals are also now spilling over into the restaurant jobs and the construction. So these younger Americans have little in the way of options.

This group of Americans are pushed into the field of employment that was usually dominated by the single parents, entry level office jobs and management training, so the single parents, have to fight to survive, and on like that (my own daughter is 23, single parent and could not even get a full time job, so she's living with us going to school, it's her only hope).

BTW, my husband is 55, Vietnam Veteran, and was a cryptographer in the Air Force. Men like him used to be able to make really good money, based solely on the fact that he had good experience, was former military and great work ethics, now this is no longer the case.

AmericanElizabeth, I live in the Southern Part of the state and Have sent and called his office a number of times. (Daily) That is a great letter and I commend both your commitment and your efforts I have read your plight in your previous posts you are a true hero to the cause. I can only hope he knows he will be out a job in November. He and his Family own Smith frozen foods in Pendleton Oregon. He claimed on the local talk show here he employees no illegal's but I am thinking he has a dog in the fight. So I am voting and telling him and his dog to go home. He is an amnesty advocate due to his Hispanic employees and feels they need to remain regardless of his oath of office to uphold the constitution and laws of this country. We need him and Ron Wyden gone, Period and they can go party with the illegal’s at Ted’s house.

Thanks, it is only when your situation gets a bit uncomfortable that you end up doing something about it. I guess if we had been well off and living in a gated, controlled Lake Oswego like community, then I would not have had the inclination to be here right now.

I do look forward to a day when all of our lives can resume back to a normal pace, without having to deal with this. We can only dream.

I have gained a great distaste for both of Oregons senators and our governor. Wyden is a major liberal, and Smith rides the fence so bad, you'd wonder if he's not gettin' a bit chaffed!!! Yep I do believe he is supporting them because he gets cheap labor out of them. Is it not true that even with a green card, they do not have to be paid Oregons minimum wage? Well anyways, it's a guarantee that he has some, or many that are "undocumented workers".

As for Ted Kolonoscopy, well, his name (my brothers version of it!!) says it all. You know he has little conviction because when OFIR pushed enough, he told all state agencies to stop going to the Matricula Consula card giveaways!!

Anyways, I am like everyone else here, just an ordinary citizen, sick and tired of being held hostage by illegal aliens and tired of being lied to by our politicians.

Great letter, AmericanElizabeth. I will be sending my own very soon. It is time Wyden and Smith represent us.

By the way, have you heard the new campaign ad from Sleepy Ted and his camp? I have to laugh everytime I hear it. It talks about all the good (???) things he has done as Gov (yawnnnn!). Says he got body armor for the troops. Um, did he do this by himself? Did he actually go out and buy it? Maybe should say he helped in getting body armor for the troops. But the funniest part is near the end of the segment where Sleepy Ted says something to the effect that he has always felt that you don't have to set your hair on fire and jump up and down to get things done. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!! Well, Teddy-boy, maybe if you had set your hair on fire and jumped up and down, at least we, Oregonians, would have known you were alive and had a pulse!!!!! He is soooooooooooo GONE come election time. The music during the ad is kind of strange too.

AmericanElizabeth, I am thinking Saxton strictly for his stance on Illegal Immigration, I would love to know your feeling? I think the rest are to worried about hurting some poor illegal's feelings. If there is anyone else from the great state of Oregon who would like to voice a opinion? Also did anyone here the lady crying on Lar's show today i did not catch the whole thing but I thought I herd something about an Illegal killed some one or something.
