Where Presidential Candidates stand on H-1B and green cards
From Rob Sanchez' Job Destruction Newsletter:
<<<<< JOB DESTRUCTION NEWSLETTER No. 1762 -- 9/26/2007 >>>>>
I tabulated where the top presidential candidates stand on employment based
visas. It's not a pretty picture, to say the least! In conclusion, we have
lost the presidency on these issues. There is almost unanimous agreement
that H-1B and green card visa numbers should be increased, and all of them
want some type of guest worker program for unskilled workers.
Tancredo, at 1% popularity, is the only one who has taken a definite stand
against increasing H-1B. Unless there is a huge sea change we had better
start thinking about Congress!

Poll: Current Poll for popularity according to CNN
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/candidates/
Table is arranged by order of popularity.
H-1B: Does candidate want to increase the number of H-1B visas for skilled
workers?
EB: Does candidate want to increase the number of employment based green
cards?
H: Does candidate want to increase or create new categories of visas for
unskilled workers? Those might be visas such as H-2B, H-1C, etc.
y - yes
n - no
? - Hasn't taken a position or is vague
u - unknown by me at this time
I welcome any of you to send documentation that would allow me to update
this table. This table is dynamic and could change as time goes on, and the
election gets closer.
If the table isn't lined correctly it's probably because of
incompatabilities between your email client and mine. Sorry about that but
nothing I can do!
