Minnie its one seperate languge that will keep us apart more so than the color of our skin, or national origin. I dont hate anybody. I dont have any hate for Hispanics. I feel very sorry for the poverty that they have to endure in their countries of origin. I hope I will see the day that all of Latin America will rise above the shackles of poverty. We in America should be able to communicate with one another in one common languge. Bilingualism is fine. Just learn english. It is what is right for America.

Many employers are getting into the act, by punishing American citizens. They write must be bilingual into job descriptions - bilingual means Spanish.
Bilingual also means "must be ethnic Latino."

There is an exception - Employers will gladly accept a Hindu employee, provided he or she is not a US citizen. This means citizen of India on either a H-1B or L-1 visa.

What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?

For technical jobs, non-citizens (mostly from Bangalore, India) get priority of hire over US citizens - for blue collar, preference goes to the illegals. Labor laws are inadequately enforced to the point that employers are laughing.

Age Discrimination is the norm for many companies - employees over 40 are forced to train young replacements from India, then they (Amercians over 40) are fired and escorted off the property. Those who fail to adequately train their replacements from India must forfeit unemployment compensation pay. You don't hear of it too much 'cause anyone who goes to the news media will have to forfeit unemployment pay. Training replacements is called "knowledge transfer," a term from India.

I only know about about the Latin culture of those who were born here, or immigrated legally. I like this culture. They are American like me. I cant really say if the majority of illegals hate Americans because I dont have experience of living around them.

    Don't you have unions ?
I'm not familiar with the law here, but I know the sindicates, the unions in other countries always protect their affiliates.

    Bilingualism

Do not even consider it. I am originally from Canada and partially left due to the bilingualism. To get a bilingual job in the federal government, you had to be from French Canadian background and not someone who studied the language in school. The same will happen here with the Hispanics should the country become bilingual. It will also cause friction within the Hispanic community as some immigrants are looked as ignorant peasants while others consider themselves higher class and more educated.
The other thing I agree with is if you want to keep your language and traditions, you can do so but do not force it on the rest of us. I was raised by parents who immigrated from Eastern European and spoke their language before I learned to speak English. As childern most ethnic people taught their children to speak English outside the house. Speaking any other language in public was considered rude. Hispanics do not see it that way and speak Spanish in public even if they know English. My daughter recently experienced it. She is involved in police explorers in Miami Dade County. It was her birthday and she brought a cake and soda to their meeting so they could have a small party. She was the only non Hispanic and the rest of them did not care and spoke Spanish. In the end she kept leaving the room and finally one of the police officers involved with that program had to tell them to stop. If my daughter and I are out in public and hear Spanish spoken; we begin speaking Russian. Many times we hve been give dirty looks. We just inform them that we are only doing what they are; speaking our ethnic language.

swatchick, I was in Jacksonville a few years ago and decided to have lunch at a Filipino restaraunt with a friend. Seated nearby was a Filipino family. As the owner who was a Filipina went to take their order she apologised that she would have to take their order in their native tongue and did not want us to be offended because we could not understand what they were saying. I thought this was very courteous of this owner.
