Wilders unapologetic as Dutch hate speech trial ends

The Hague (AFP) - Populist Dutch MP Geert Wilders remained unapologetic as his hate speech trial drew to a close on Wednesday, saying "millions of Dutch citizens will be convicted with me" if he is found guilty.

Wilders, 53, who had previously shunned hearings held at a high-security courthouse near Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, addressed a three-judge bench at the end of the three-week trial which will formally be closed on Friday.

"I am not a racist and my voters are neither. They are people who want their country back and who are sick and tired of not being listened to," said Wilders, dressed in a dark blue suit and with his trademark peroxide hairdo.

"If you convict me, you will convict half of The Netherlands," said Wilders, who added: "Many Dutch will then lose the last bit of trust in the rule of law."

The firebrand far-right politician faces charges of insulting a racial group and inciting racial hatred after comments he made about Moroccans living in the Netherlands.

Set for a verdict on December 9, the trial focuses in part on a comment made at a March 2014 local government election rally, when Wilders asked supporters whether they wanted "fewer or more Moroccans in your city and in the Netherlands".

When the crowd shouted back "Fewer! Fewer!" a smiling Wilders answered: "We're going to organise that."

The Netherlands will hold general elections in March and Wilders's far-right Freedom Party (PVV) is riding high in various polls, a close second or even ahead of the ruling Liberal VVD party.
His 2014 statements were met with outrage, including from the small but vocal Dutch Muslim community. An avalanche of 6,400 complaints to police followed.

But Wilders accused prosecutors -- whom he referred to as government "puppets" -- and opposition politicians of directing a "political process" against him.

"The court is being abused to settle a political score," Wilders told the judges.

Earlier, public prosecutor Wouter Bos said Wilders could "say what he wants" but that "the law is clear and applies to everyone -- to Wilders too".

Goran Sluiter, a lawyer representing aggrieved groups and individuals who are demanding compensation from Wilders, told the judges "that only the law can protect minorities" in The Netherlands.

Whereas Wilders says the principle of freedom of expression was on trial, Sluiter told the judges that it was a "criminal process against an evil that's called discrimination".

Prosecutors last week demanded a 5,000 euro ($5,300) fine against Wilders, who has promised to close mosques, ban Muslim immigrants and withdraw The Netherlands from the European Union should he be voted into power next year.

Thank God and the Founders for our First Amendment! The guy just asked the people if they wanted fewer immigrants for God's sake! That's a crime in Holland! That's what the socialist-DemocRATS want to make it like here with their PC garbage.

BTW, note that every time the propaganda piece refers to him and his party it is "far right." Yeah, I'll bet. Most likely if you look at their platform they're probably just nationalists and not globalists.

It's a "crime" promoted by the EU, not the Dutch so much. I think the Dutch want to withdraw from the EU, they were not big fans to begin with. They're one of the countries who held referendum and defeated the EU Constitution along with France.

yes a crime in EU - how else could they get their muslim takeover agenda to get this far? Traveling in Europe, natives will not speak @ immigration matters - could face fines, lose your job, imprisonment. that is what hillary had planned for USA as " we will be shamed if we discuss muslims negatively" as she planned to increase 550%. thank you wikileaks

French Icon Brigitte Bardot’s Blasphemy Against Muslims

    Reuters

by Dr. Phyllis Chesler20 Feb 2015New York

Former film star Brigitte Bardot, France’s iconic blonde bombshell and “sex kitten” who reigned supreme from 1952 – 1973, has been on trial five times for insulting Muslims and “inciting racial hatred.”

The prosecutor in her fifth trial, Anne de Fontette, wants a heftier fine and a tougher sentence: the equivalent of $24,000 and a two month (hopefully) suspended jail term.
What crimes has Bardot committed in the land without a First Amendment, in the land of Hate Speech laws that are being slickly exploited by non-persecuted Muslims?

Bardot has written: “I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country.”

Bardot, seventy nine, is an avid animal rights activist and abhors the slaughter of animals for any purpose, including religious ones. But mainly, she laments “the Islamization of France.”

In 1997, Bardot was convicted of “inciting racial hatred” by publishing an Open Letter in the French Daily, Le Figaro; she complained offoreign over-population,mostly by Muslim families.

In 1998, Bardot was again convicted for “decrying the loss of French identity and tradition due to the ‘multiplication of mosques while our church bells fall silent for want of priests.’”

In 2000, Bardot was again convicted for what she wrote in her book Pluto’s Square, which featured a chapter in which she grieved for “my country, my homeland, my land is again invaded by an overpopulation of foreigners, especially Muslims.”

In 2004, in another book, A Cry in the Silence, Bardot ran afoul of the political correctniks by “generally associating Islam with the 9/11 terror attacks and denouncing the ‘Islamization of France’ by people she described as ‘invaders.’ She also wrote: “Over the last twenty years, we have given in to a subterranean, dangerous, and uncontrolled infiltration, which not only resists adjusting to our laws and customs but which will, as the years pass, attempt to impose its own.”

Bardot has written what the late, great Oriana Fallaci once wrote—for which she, too, was sued in both France and Italy.

Bardot has written what the great Jean Raspail once wrote in his 1973 brilliant dystopian novel In the Camp of the Saints.

Bardot has written what the prescient and indomitable scholar Bat Ye’or has written in her 2005 book Eurabia. The Euro-Arab Axis and in her 2011 book Europe, Globalization, And the Coming Universal Caliphate.

Islam is not a race. Muslims exist in all colors of the rainbow. Islam is a religion—one that has historically refused to separate religion or Sharia law from the state. In the name of Islam, and following Mohammed’s example, Muslims have engaged in imperialism, colonialism, conversion via the sword, gender and religious apartheid, genocide, and slavery. Today, groups such as ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah—and countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan—are practicing Islam as a form of totalitarian barbarism.

Not all Muslims are terrorists—many are anti-Islamists—but many terrorists today are Muslims who claim to be acting in the name of Islam. What is tricky is that non-Caucasian Muslims have experienced racism at the hands of European Caucasians, thus complicating the tragic tangle of racism per se versus the West’s belated response to the problem of radical Islamic supremacism, misogyny, infidel-hatred, and righteously hostile, parallel societies within the West.
Just as an increasing number of Muslims in France want to keep their traditions– including child marriage, FGM, face-veiling, polygamy, stoning for adultery and for homosexuality—so too does Bardot wish to keep European Enlightenment traditions (the separation of religion and state, individual rights, the right to speak freely).

Correction: the original version of this article claimed Brigitte Bardot’s fifth trial for inciting racial hatred occurred recently. Bardot faced her fifth trial in 2008.

That's what Evil Queen Hitlery had in store for us if she won - speaking the truth is a crime. Like I said, thank God and the Founding Fathers for our First Amendment!! And thank Donald Trump for running for POTUS to save us from Hitlery and her tyrannical rule.

    Poor Bardot. She should move.

Van Gogh was murdered by Mohammed Bouyeri while cycling to work on 2 November 2004 at about 9 o'clock in the morning, in front of the Amsterdam East borough office (stadsdeelkantoor), on the corner of the Linnaeusstraat and Tweede Oosterparkstraat (52°21′32.22″N 4°55′34.74″E).[8] The killer shot Van Gogh eight times with an HS2000 handgun. Bouyeri was also on a bicycle and fired several bullets, hitting Van Gogh and two bystanders. Wounded, Van Gogh ran to the other side of the road and fell to the ground on the cycle lane. According to eyewitnesses, Van Gogh's last words were "Don't do it, don't do it" or "Have mercy, have mercy, don't do it, don't do it".[9] Bouyeri walked up to Van Gogh, who was on the ground, and calmly shot him several more times at close range.[10][11]
Bouyeri cut Van Gogh’s throat with a large knife and tried to decapitate him, after which he stabbed the knife deep into Van Gogh's chest, reaching his spinal cord. He attached a note to the body with a smaller knife. Van Gogh died on the spot.[12] The two knives were left implanted. The note was addressed to and contained a death threat to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who went into hiding. It also threatened Western countries and Jews, and referred to ideologies of the Egyptian organization Takfir wal-Hijra.[13][14]
The killer, Mohammed Bouyeri, a 26-year-old Dutch-Moroccan citizen, was apprehended by police after a chase, during which he was shot in the leg. Authorities have alleged that Bouyeri has terrorist ties with the Dutch Islamist Hofstad Network. He was charged with the attempted murder of several police officers and bystanders, illegal possession of a firearm, and conspiring to murder others, including Hirsi Ali. He was convicted at trial on 26 July 2005 and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.[15]
The murder sparked a violent storm of outrage and grief throughout the Netherlands. Flowers, notes, drawings and other expressions of mourning were left at the scene of the murder.[16]

De Schreeuw (The Scream) is a memorial for Theo van Gogh and a symbol of the freedom of speech

Geert Wilders, an Independent Dutch member of parliament, advocated a five-year halt to immigration from non-Western societies, saying: "The Netherlands has been too tolerant to intolerant people for too long. We should not import a retarded political Islamic society into our country".[20]

Wilders and Ayaan Hirsi Ali went into hiding for several weeks. Wilders has been under the protection of bodyguards ever since, and Hirsi Ali eventually relocated to the United States.
Theo van Gogh's son claims he has been attacked on several occasions by young people of Moroccan and Turkish descent, and that the police did not provide him with help or protection.[21] The police denied receiving any report of attacks.

Anti-Islam Dutch politician Geert Wilders found guilty of discrimination

Geert Wilders, anti-Islam leader of far-right Dutch party, is found guilty of discrimination
A Dutch court found anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders guilty of insulting an ethnic group and inciting discrimination. His party is leading in polls ahead of the country’s upcoming general election in March.
    By Karla Adam December 9

LONDON — A Dutch court found anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders guilty Friday of insulting an ethnic group and inciting discrimination after he led chants against Moroccans, a conviction he promptly denounced as “madness.”

Wilders, the controversial leader of the Netherlands’ far-right Freedom Party (PVV), said he plans to appeal the verdict delivered by a panel of three “hating” judges. His party is leading in polls ahead of the country’s upcoming general election in March.

“Three PVV hating judges declare that Moroccans are a race and convict me and half of the Netherlands. Madness,” he wrote in a Twitter message after the verdict.

In March 2014, Wilders sparked outrage at a rally in The Hague after asking supporters whether they wanted more or fewer Moroccan immigrants in the Netherlands.

The crowd chanted: “Fewer! Fewer!” Wilders responded, “We’re going to organize that.” More than 6,400 people filed official complaints to the police, a sampling of which were read out in court.

The court imposed no punishment on Wilders, saying the conviction was punishment enough. The prosecution wanted to impose a fine of 5,000 euros ($5,28.

The “inflammatory” way statements were made at the rally encouraged others to discriminate against Moroccans, the court said, but it found there was “insufficient evidence” to convict Wilders of a separate charge of inciting hatred.

Wilders, 53, is one of a number of populist politicians across Europe who are riding a tide of anti-establishment anger, fueled in part by concerns over immigration and sluggish economies. The flamboyant Dutch politician has been compared to Donald Trump and sometimes uses the hashtag #MakeTheNetherlandsGreatAgain. On election night in the United States, he wrote on Twitter, “The people are taking their country back, so will we.”

If he becomes the next Dutch prime minister, Wilders has vowed to ban the Koran, close mosques and Islamic schools and stop immigration from Muslim countries. He has also said he would support a “Nexit” referendum, with the hopes that the Netherlands would follow Britain’s example and vote to leave the European Union.

    [Meet Europe’s far-right leaders]

Wilders boycotted much of the trial, but during a court appearance Nov. 23, he said that he had a right to free speech and accused rival politicians of conducting a “witch hunt."

Wilders has also said the conviction would do little to silence him.

“Millions of Dutch are sick and tired of political correctness,” he said with his usual rhetorical flair in a video posted Friday on YouTube. “You can count on one thing — I will never be silent.”

    Wow!

He said it all, and make no mistake it is already here.

If they could have gotten away with it, they would have done the same to PE Trump.

We have so many enemies in this country, and I'm not talking about the foreign enemies whose intent is to completely change this country. I'm talking about our very own politicians - from city hall to the White House. I'm talking about the churches who are doing so much harm in what they are pretending is Christian charity, but is nothing more than manipulating people and getting paid very well by our government - using our monies. I'm talking about the other so called charities that are doing harm for our country and daring us to speak the truth about it.

'What is used develops. That which is not used
    withers away.'

That not only goes for our bodies - it goes for our rights. We could rephrase and say, 'That which is not used - gets taken away.' when speaking of our rights.

We need to exercise our rights and stop being afraid to be who we are and to exercise those rights.
