House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Thursday that illegal immigrant Dreamers don’t have to worry about being deported under a Trump administration, telling a mother that there won’t be a deportation force “knocking on your door this year.”

Mr. Ryan also said Congress won’t create the deportation force that Donald Trump talked about during the election campaign because there is no need.

“There won’t be a deportation force,” he told CNN in a town hall.

The network confronted Mr. Ryan with an illegal immigrant mother who is also a Dreamer under President Obama’s 2012 amnesty, and with a woman whose son was killed by a repeat criminal who was in the U.S. illegally.

Mr. Ryan said the charge he has taken from Mr. Trump is to target the serious criminals for deportation while finding a way to grant Dreamers and other low-priority illegal immigrants legal status.

“That’s the problem he wants to focus on,” he said, pointing to the mother who lost her son. “This is not the focus,” he then said, pointing at the illegal immigrant mother, who stood with her daughter.

“If you’re worried about some deportation force coming and knocking on your door this year, don’t worry about that,” he assured the illegal immigrant.

The government already has a deportation force: the agents at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mr. Trump’s campaign plan called for tripling the number of ICE agents.

WOW, is he actually saying Trump has directed him to find a way to give DACA illegals and other illegals amnesty? If this is true, it's huge news!

We have a problem with Speaker Ryan. He is determined not to budge one bit on amnesty where the illegal alien dreamers and others are concerned. He is for deportation for identified criminals only from what he has said recently. The problem is that there are many illegal alien criminals not identified or caught. Many more Americans, mothers, fathers, children will be devastated by illegal alien crime from DACA and DAPA individuals.

That was my impression MW. He is tasked with two things, secure the border and deport criminal illegal aliens. He repeated it.

I would like to believe these two things are what he is openly saying that President Elect Trump and he agree on but something more will happen on illegal immigration with Trump.

It's not "huge news", it's a huge lie. There will be no amnesty under Trump. There will be no legal status of any kind under Trump because Trump has said and pay attention even if Idiot Ryan can't or won't, Trump's priority is to remove millions of criminal illegal aliens, all visa overstays, everyone on welfare or other benefits, and anyone who won't or can't support themselves, to enforce the law and secure the border. Then IF there is anyone else left, he will review the individual situations at that time to see what should be done keeping in mind he says that others waiting to come in legally should be considered first in fairness to them and our citizens.

Oh my God, I'm watching this piece of crap Ryan now flirting with that illegal alien bragging on her, bragging on her town of Oklahoma City, blah blah blah. Disgusting.

He is telling us now in town hall what is the plan.


Ryan is saying,

1) we will secure the border,

2) we will deport violent and repeat criminal illegal aliens,

then, we will deal with the undocumented in a humane manner.

When people get confidence border secure, these thornier issues will be resolved.

Trump transition and Ryan are working on something for DACA and others.

Which is obviously amnesty if you read Ryan's own words. This is not good. Actually, this is horrible news!

What Ryan is saying is he himself is trying to convince Trump on DACA. Trump doesn't want DACA or DAPA or anything to do with it. So if Ryan wants to claim he's trying to get Trump on board for DACA, then that's his problem. I don't think Trump will ever do that. He's going to reverse DACA and DAPA executive orders on his first day in office. If Congress tries to pass a new one, Trump will veto it.
