Friends of ALIPAC,

This message is being crafted to address the concerns and complaints we are receiving from people who do not like our Draft Lou Dobbs for President website.

RESPONSE TO CONCERNS ABOUT THE DRAFT DOBBS WEBSITE

First, let us remind everyone that the decision to launch the site was made with full prior consultation with our supporters. We have over 25,000 supporters nationally. We gave everyone a chance to weigh in and a sample of 10% of our supporters chose to participate in the survey. In the survey, 84% responded they liked the idea of a potential Lou Dobbs run.

In response to the question, "Would I support CNN Anchor Lou Dobbs for President"? 70.19% said, "Yes, immediately" and another 14.05% said, "Yes, but only if my candidate loses the primary". From our prior survey, we know that 90% of the 14.05% are committed to other campaigns for the Primaries and are supporting Hunter, Paul, Thompson, or Romney.

These online surveys are available for you to view and you can still vote, if you like at these links....

Clearly, this decision was made to offer the Draft Lou Dobbs site to a super majority of our supporters. From the hundreds of positive comments, that everyone should view, in the Guestbook at www.LouDobbsforPresident.org and from the fact that over $200,000 has been pledged to a potential Dobbs campaign in the first 24 hours proves there is a high interest level.

RESPONSE TO CONCERNS ABOUT OUR POSITION ON PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS

We have stated, over five times, that ALIPAC is not endorsing Lou Dobbs or any Presidential candidate. We have stated clearly that our goal is to help the public identify which candidates are supporting Amnesty for illegal aliens. The current list of pro-amnesty candidates are all the Democrats and the GOP campaigns of John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Huckabee.

While the Democrats are being open about their pro-amnesty positions, the three Republicans are going to great lengths to conceal their true immigration stances.

While most of the e-mails we receive are polite and professional, we also receive constant e-mail contacts, many of which are hostile and accusatory, telling us we should endorse a particular candidate.

Ron Paul

While we have received such e-mails for most of the candidates, we must honestly state that the majority of e-mails (over half) containing threats to withdraw support or contain accusatory or hostile language are coming from self-described Ron Paul supporters.

While these e-mails are not representative of the Ron Paul campaign, nor the majority of Ron Paul supporters, we do need to point out that such aggressive behavior can hurt a candidate and citizens supporting any candidate should be very thoughtful about how they express themselves, as not to alienate potential supporters.

The video interview we did with Ron Paul has not been edited to mislead people or distort Ron Paul's positions in any fashion. The video was micro-edited because it was too long and I was very tired, as was Ron Paul, and some of the content needed to be removed.

We understand that the Ron Paul campaign is facing a lot of censorship and political dirty tricks and it is good that supporters are on guard. However, there is no "conspiracy" going on at ALIPAC regarding Ron Paul and frankly we find some of the unfounded and unwarranted accusations to be outlandish.

To illustrate this point, we will now archive all e-mails we receive of this nature beneath this post on the ALIPAC website.

This post will now serve as our standard response to the e-mail complaints that we receive about ALIPAC's position on the Presidential campaigns and the Draft Lou Dobbs effort.

Our efforts to expose the Democrats and McCain, Huckabee, and Giuliani are helpful to the campaigns of Thompson, Paul, Hunter, and Romney. Our effort to expose the Democrats and the pro-amnesty Republicans are helpful to a possible independent candidate run.

Another problem we are having is that many people do not take the time to actually read our e-mail alerts or the supporting material provided before sending us some knee jerk reactionary hostile e-mail.

The decision not to endorse a particular candidate at this time was made for the following strategic reasons.

1. ALIPAC must respect the fact that our supporters have made up their own minds about which campaigns they want to support. Aligning with an individual campaign would cost us many supporters. If we were to lose many supporters at this time, ALIPAC would have to reduce or shut down operations and we hope that none of you want that to happen.

2. ALIPAC is in a position where we have the unfortunate task of exposing certain pro-amnesty candidates. This is a very difficult and challenging task and if we were to align with a rival campaign, it would diminish our credibility in the minds of voters, many of which are reluctant to believe the facts we bring to the table as it is. Many people would write us off claiming that the messages we convey are being made to support the candidate we had endorsed, instead of the truth which is our desire to get accurate information to the public.

MORE ON DOBBS

Since this is a long message....

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.

The Draft Lou Dobbs website at www.LouDobbsforPresident.org

WILL NOT HAVE ANY NEGATIVE EFFECT ON ANY EXISTING CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT.

No Lou Dobbs Campaign exists at this time.

Therefore, no votes or funds can be diverted from the campaign you support to a non-existent Lou Dobbs campaign.

The emotional e-mails we are receiving from people who are upset and believing the Draft Dobbs site is going to hurt their candidates of choice are not supported by any known campaign dynamics.

The only candidates that would be harmed by Lou Dobbs actually running for President, would be the Republican and Democratic primary winners. Lou Dobbs is not running at this time and even if he were running, he would not be on any Primary ballots.

The only way anyone could justify the complaint that "Your efforts to support Lou Dobbs are going to hurt candidate _____" would be if you believed someone spending a few minutes reading or filling out comments or a pledge of support at www.LouDobbsforPresident.org would somehow take away anything more than a few minutes of time from your campaign of choice. Most people would agree that such a concern is minimal.

The Draft Lou Dobbs website was launched for the following reasons.

1. We wanted to offer Lou Dobbs supporters a venue where they could express their political free speech in support of Mr. Dobbs.

2. We want to show Lou Dobbs, ourselves, the media, and the nation what kind of support is or is not out there for a potential Lou Dobbs run.

3. We want to communicate to both major parties that we will not be forced into a lose-lose situation on Amnesty for illegal aliens without resistance.

4. We want to prepare for some escape attempt, if American voters find themselves trapped between a Republican and a Democratic winner of the primaries which both support Amnesty for illegal aliens.

5. To have an existing network of Lou Dobbs supporters in place, in the event pro-Amnesty candidates John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, or Mike Huckabee win the GOP primary, which can help us to either intensify our calls for Dobbs to run or to provide Lou Dobbs with a list of supporters, if it becomes necessary for him to run.

IN CLOSING

We want everyone to keep in mind that politics is a contact sport and a form of civilized conflict.

We want everyone to acknowledge that it is impossible to find any organization, candidate, or leader that you agree with 100% or that you agree with all decisions made.

We want everyone to treat fellow patriots in this cause with maximum respect and to work for maximum unity during these difficult times because the way forward is not always black and white.

Let us state clearly that ALIPAC is not receiving any financial support from any Presidential campaign or any influential organizations or political players.

Our contributors are called "supporters" and even our large donors do not have any kind of undue influence on our decision making process.

We do our very best to make decisions, in consultation with our supporters, the ALIPAC Board of Directors, and our core activists, that are in the best interest of our cause and our movement.

Much time and energy is put into our decision making processes and your input and feedback is given the highest level of consideration possible.

Many of the people helping with our decision making represent average Americans that have become activists, as well as seasoned campaign professionals and organization leaders.

We are doing the best we can to do and all that we can to fight against illegal immigration, and Amnesty and for secure borders, enforcement of our existing immigration laws, the restoration of our Republic and the Rule of Law.

We hope that this message answers many of your questions. Feel free to post any questions or concerns here beneath this post.

We will answer your questions and this will allow others to review responses to increase their knowledge of our operations.

All future complaint e-mails received by ALIPAC will be directed to this message and posted beneath this message.
