I agree with you 100% that a candidate should say our laws should be respected and people need to apply in accordance with current immigration law to get in legally. Trump now leads in EVERY state and as long as he doesn't bomb in the debates he will likely be the nominee. However you also know that sometimes people have to compromise and don't get everything they want. With Trump he will strengthen the border, end sanctuary cities, deport a lot of people, and end Obama's amnesty. Meanwhile people like you and NumbersUSA can continue to positively influence Trump because he won't be in office for a long time still.

By the way being a Christian REALLY hurts our cause! That's why I'm NOT a Christian! The Pope and now Cardinal Dolan have both come out for letting in illegals! Now Dolan just ripped Trump for being "nativist". I have seen clergy point to bible passages that show we must take in and accept poor illegals! Illegals RIGHT NOW are hiding out in churches in AMERICA to avoid deportation because ICE agents don't go in churches! IF American is eventually overrun by illegals and loses its European majority we can ONLY blame Christianity!

If you want to save our nation dump Christianity because it is VERY clear Christian teachings tell you to take care of poor regardless of where they come from or their current status! I've been to church and it's such an obvious SCAM! There isn't a SHRED of evidence that anything they tell you is true! I even spoke to parishoners afterwards and they ALL had so much doubt about the crap in the bible! The damn Christian religion will be the downfall of our nation by pandering to MILLIONS of illegals and making us feel guilty if we don't support them! You need to dump Christianity if we are to have a chance!

I will not be denying Christ anytime ever and Ill thank you kindly not to ever suggest such a thing again on our boards.

The highest support levels against illegal immigration and against amnesty are found in the ranks of Christians and Evangelicals according to numerous polls and those leaders in the Catholic and Protestant churches pushing amnesty are out of sync with super majorities of their constituents!

The only way America has any hope of being saved from these powers and principalities that confront us is with God's grace, mercy, and assistance. It is our nation's departure from God and his true meaning and wishes that has made us weak and vulnerable to attack from within.

Hey, what he said! Thank you, William. These forums are really no place to attack ones religion. We have many Christians right here on ALIPAC.

The explain how I've had MANY Christians over the years say "Jesus would not reject these illegals like you want to". They say "Jesus would let these illegals in and take care of them". They say "a real Christian would be kind and accepting of destitute humans and not deny them humanity", etc. etc.

Then they cite the bible. How do you defend against that other than say the bible is crap? They've shoved bible passages in my face that SUPPORT their assertion that we should take care of, be compassionate, & let in illegals!

I would say that is happening because the spirit of The Beast has taken strong root in many of the churches and that power pushing America into destruction and ruin is the voice you have heard from some Christians.

Also, many churches (especially ones in urban areas and in churches where child molestation allegations have run people off) are trying to refill their pews and some unscrupulous leaders are willing to fill them with gullible illegals.

And your mistake is letting a few examples lead you to a complete lack of understanding of the views of 80% of Christians in America that reject illegal immigration and amnesty.

Yet the facts remain that Christian conservatives are the largest group of Americans fighting against amnesty and illegal immigration and while we offer a big tent that includes classical liberals and even environmentalists and libertarians... nobody fighting in our coalition should seek to alienate any other group in our camp... especially not the largest group.

Poll finds most evangelicals believe biblical mandate is for immigration laws to protect a nation's vulnerable members

    https://www.numbersusa.com/content/n...ious-poll.html

The Pulse Opinion Research survey of 1,000 evangelical likely voters found that, when considering the country's unemployed, the overwhelming majority of evangelicals favored fully enforcing immigration laws and reducing legal immigration by at least half. (The 19-question survey's margin of error was 3%.)

    • Only 12% of evangelical voters agreed with the view that the Old Testament verses in which "God commands the ancient Israelites to love the stranger as themselves" mean that "the U.S. government should offer work permits and legal status to illegal immigrants."

    • Instead, 78% chose the interpretation that God's command "means the U.S. government should offer humane treatment while fairly applying the law."

The survey asked evangelicals if restrictive immigration laws violate or follow biblical teachings? By a 5-1 margin, evangelicals said the laws "follow biblical teaching by protecting the most vulnerable within the national community," as opposed to the view that the laws "violate biblical teaching by keeping out poor foreigners seeking a better life."
By a 4-1 margin, evangelicals were more likely to say the government has "a lot" of moral responsibility to protect struggling Americans from having to "compete with foreign workers for jobs" than to say the responsibility is to protect the ability of "settled illegal immigrants to hold a job and support their families without fear of deportation."
Only 18% of evangelical voters were persuaded by arguments that the presence of so many illegal immigrants as active members of their churches improves the case for granting work permits and legal status. It should make no difference, said 71%.
The poll found even less support for increasing legal immigration:

    • only 8% of evangelicals supported doubling legal immigration and 14% favored keeping it at the current 1 million a year,
    • 64% said immigration should be cut at least to 500,000 a year, with half of all evangelicals supporting a limit of no more than 100,000 a year,
    • 29% said legal immigration should be reduced to zero.

Evangelicals showed particular concerns for Black and Hispanic Americans, younger less-educated Americans of all ethnicities and the disabled, all of whom have very high jobless rates and whom many employers say they find it difficult to recruit. Most evangelicals (73%) said that, instead of bringing in more immigrant workers, employers should be "required to try harder to recruit and train" Americans from those high-unemployment groups.
And most evangelicals (68%) said they are willing to pay higher prices if it is necessary for employers to raise wages to fill jobs with Americans instead of adding more foreign workers. Asked to choose between two overall views of immigration:

    • 15% chose that "most people should be able to migrate from country to country since all people are equal children of God."
    • 75% chose that "nations have a moral and sovereign right to decide which and how many immigrants can enter."

Yes, we know the chances of getting everything we want is zero. However, IMO, we should never compromise on amnesty! As for Trump's other promises ..... that's what they are, just promises. Of course it's hard to keep track of his many promises because as of late he has been all over the board. We've heard it all before. Other candidates are also promising to secure the border, end sanctuary cities, send illegals home, and end Obama's amnesty.

Oh, exactly how do you know Trump will deport lots of people? Even if he did, it doesn't mean much when you set a plan in action to expedite their return! One last thing, I didn't see Trump say anything about getting rid of the Dreamers. However, I did actually see where he said it wouldn't be fair to send them home and that he would figure out a fair way to deal with them. That my friend means amnesty.

I hope you don't eventually end up regretting your enthusiasm for Trump. Remember when John McCain wasn't really on the radar back in 2008 and he came back and won the nomination in the end. It's very possible the same thing could happen to Donald Trump. I'm not jumping on the Trump bandwagon because he seem to wishy-washy for my liking. He needs to come up with a strong message and above all else, stay consistent! It's difficult to hold a man accountable when he says one thing and then two days later says something else. That's what Trump is doing right now.

Trump jumped out of the box full of enthusiasm expounding on what Americans were thinking. Even the lady taking phone calls at my republican congressman's office said to me first, "Trump is only saying what we all want to say." Her excitement was surprising.

Trump keeps reminding us that he knows how to negotiate. I have to apply that to we, the voters, too. He is negotiating with us. I worked nearly all my life negotiating, too. As he continues negotiating it is difficult to read what his bottom line is. I do not think he will tell us. The principle he came out of the box with is attractive, "Let's make America great again." I do not think he would purposely hurt America. That is more than I can say for at least the present and the recent past President.

The thing that makes him likable as a candidate is he is stronger on this than any other candidate. But, he is negotiating, two weeks ago he would run as a third party candidate, this week he say he won't. What did he and RNC negotiate. He is not telling, it is important to know!

Who will he negotiate with next month and what will be his new stance?

I am glad we have months to watch him. I will express support for him if contacted by any poll takers. We need to convince other candidates that Trump is right more than they. Keeping Trump well above them in the polls will eventually register on prudent people. People who are not prudent need not be POTUS anyway.

Trump is sounding tougher on immigration from Scotland today saying he WILL build the wall and he WILL make Mexico pay for it! That's why people love him! His stance on immigration may not be tough enough yet but you must admit that we wouldn't even be talking about immigration if not for Trump!
