Numbers USA:End-Chain-Migration bill introduced top priority

    From: Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA
    Date: Tuesday 15FEB2011 Noon EST

MOST IMPORTANT IMMIGRATION BILL INTRODUCED TODAY

H.R. 692 WOULD STOP ALL CHAIN MIGRATION

Friends this bill would do more than any other single action to reduce overall legal and illegal immigration numbers.

That is a big claim. (I will come back to you at another time on why stopping legal Chain Migration would also stop a lot of illegal immigration.) But I will tell you that this bill is NumbersUSA's No. 1 legislative goal. And it has been No. 1 with us since we formed in 1996.

ACTION -- Send a free fax to your U.S. Representative and urge him/her to co-sponsor the End-Chain-Migration bill.

    See the fax at: http://www.numbersusa.com/faxes?ID=12718

NEARLY QUARTER MILLION FEWER FOREIGN WORK VISAS A YEAR

With the simple passage of this bill -- and at no expense to the federal government -- H.R. 692 would reduce the number of permanent work visas for foreign citizens by nearly a quarter million a year!

H.R. 692 would eliminate family chain categories that have been engorging the U.S. laborforce with unneeded workers. These permanent work permits are handed to these relatives
without any regard to their skills

without any regard to their education

without any regard to their own humanitarian claims

without any regard to whether there is a job for them.
The Chain Migration categories are among the worst examples of an immigration system that is on auto pilot and floods the country with new workers, new users of infrastructure and new users of public services without any regard to their effect on the American people.

Under H.R. 692, recent immigrants no longer would be able to bring additional immigrants into the country because they are:

    brothers and sisters

    adult children

    parents

The only immigration that immigrants would be allowed to control in the future would be to bring in their spouse and minor children -- the traditional nuclear family.

Fax your U.S. Representative now and ask him/her to sign this bill and dramatically reduce the foreign competition for U.S. jobs needed by 22 million unemployed Americans who can't find a full-time job.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong about an immigrant being able to bring siblings, parents or adult children into the country. But the numbers add up to an effect that is a profound disservice to the American taxpayer, to the American worker and to the American citizen.

FAMILY IMMIGRATION SHOULD BE LIMITED TO NUCLEAR FAMILY

H.R. 692 is named the Nuclear Family Priority Act.

Once again, it has been introduced by Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.).

This bill conforms with what polls show most American think immigration policy should do in terms of families. That is, most Americans don't think an immigrant should demand to bring his/her entire extended family once he/she has been granted the incredible opportunity to be an immigrant.

Immigrants allowed into the U.S. can visit their extended family by air travel once a year (just like many Americans do with relatives that live in other states) or more. They can communicate with their extended family daily by phone and hourly by internet and other social media. Their extended family can come to the U.S. to visit them.

But immigrants should NOT feel entitled to put large extended families on waiting lists to get permanent U.S. work permits.

Tell that to your U.S. Representative when you send a free fax to him/her to co-sponsor H.R. 692.

BILL IS HUMANE FOR TREATMENT OF PARENTS

Until 1959, immigrants weren't allowed to send for parents, adult children or siblings.

But Rep. Gingrey's H.R. 692 provides a major humane offer to immigrants who want to care for their aging parents over extended periods.

H.R. 692 allows immigrants to bring their parents to the U.S. on VISITOR visas that can last as long as 5 years, and can be renewed.

But unlike current conditions, H.R. 692 imposes these conditions on parents:

Parents are not immigrants and cannot become U.S. citizens

Parents wouldn't be able to petition for other relatives to immigrate

Parents wouldn't be allowed to use taxpayer-supported public services

Parents' health care would have to be fully provided by their naturalized U.S. citizen children

Parents wouldn't be allowed to hold a U.S. job.

Violation of the restrictions would result in parents being sent home.
But the bottom line would be nearly a quarter million fewer new immigrants each year to be competing for jobs and competing for public services and demanding more physical infrastructure and requiring vast new amounts of natural habitat to provide for their residence, work, recreation, etc.

    THANKS FOR SENDING THIS FAX,

P.S. After you send the Chain Migration fax, please look on your Action Board for other action opportunities that we need from you.

Urge your Rep. to Support Legislation to Restrict Chain Migration!

    Representative Connie Mack
U.S. House of Representatives, 115 Cannon House Office Building
    Washington, DC 20515

    Dear Representative Mack:

We urge you to cosponsor H.R. 692, Rep. Phil Gingrey's Nuclear Family Priority Act.

By ending chain migration of adult relatives and in-laws, the Nuclear Family Priority Act would bring about more economic justice to America's most vulnerable citizens, a better quality of life to Americans whose daily lives are becoming too congested and regimented, and more opportunity for our grandchildren to live in individual liberty and environmental sustainability.

There are 22 million Americans who can't find a job and that number is growing by the day. Cosponsoring H.R. 692, the Nuclear Family Priority Act, would help these unemployed Americans and those Americans who may become unemployed in the coming months.

    An American for sovereignty,

    Signed XXXXXXXX

P.S. GET Busy in Cosponsoring H.R. 692. There are 22 million Americans who can't find a job and that number is growing by the day. Sen Nelson is Vulnerable in the next election because of his actions .. dont follow suit; do what we pay you to do

    DEAR FRIENDS,

Our Team on Capitol Hill has just learned that major immigration amendments are expected to come up for votes on the House floor tomorrow (Wed).

Your U.S. Representative needs a call from you Wed morning to make sure these votes go the right way!

This is the first time in years that Representatives will be forced to take several open stands on these issues.

I am coming to you now just to warn you that we need all of you to be ready to act tomorrow morning.

ACTION -- We need you to check your inbox first thing Wednesday morning and look for my next Alert to you.

It will have the link to a Phone Action Note on your customized NumbersUSA Action Board. There you will find the phone number for your Representative and talking points, as well as background information.

If you have never called Congress, please make this your first time. It is easy. You just talk to a House staffer and calmly state your request. You don't have to argue or debate. Quick in, quick out.

A CHANCE FOR A MORATORIUM ON THE VISA LOTTERY . . . AND ON THE FEDS SUING ARIZONA!

We're told the Rules Committee has approved these amendments to come up for a vote in consideration of the Continuing Resolution to keep the government funded the next several months:

Amendment No. 225 by Rep. Goodlatte (R-Va.) would ban the State Department from using funds to carry out the Visa Lottery.

This would effectively put a moratorium on the lottery for the next year. Unemployed Americans would no longer be insulted by their federal government raffling off 50,000 permanent work permits to citizens of other countries.

Amendment No. 199 by Rep. Poe (R-Texas) would ban the Justice Department from using funds to sue Arizona to stop it from enforcing immigration laws.

2 BAD AMENDMENTS TO CURTAIL ENFORCEMENT AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

The new more open process of allowing a lot of amendments from all parties presents us with a couple of amendments that could really hurt immigration enforcement.

Amendment No. 277 by Rep. Price (D-N.C.) would ban funding for REAL ID. This would slow down the move nationwide for secure drivers licenses that are kept out of the hands of illegal aliens.

Price has used his seniority for years to slow down and stop deportations of illegal aliens and to make life easier for illegal aliens. This amendment would make it easier for illegal aliens to get state drivers licenses and to use them to remain in the U.S. illegally.

Amendment No. 188 by Rep. Polis (D-Colo.) would cap the number of beds for illegal aliens in detention. This would limit the number of arrests, detentions and deportations of illegal aliens.

Of the 4, I consider No. 225 on the lottery to be far and away the most important. It would be a chance for the first time to reduce the importation of foreign workers during this Jobs Depression in the U.S.

We'll give you instructions on how to register opinion and constituent pressure any -- or all four -- of these amendments.

CHECK BACK ON YOUR ACTION BOARD OR MY NEW EMAIL ALERT FIRST THING WEDNESDAY MORNING,

    Roy Beck, President NumbersUSA

P.S. Now would be a good time for you to make sure you have sent all your faxes. A lot has been happening all at once on the immigration front in Congress and in state legislatures. Don't miss an opportunity to help.

This is the most bullying, biggoted, short-sighted and unreasonable piece of legislation I have seen for a while.
I think these kinds of "initiatives" is exactly what distracts the attention from the real problems, and prevents the voice of reason from being heard.
This is why illegal immigration problem isn't getting any closer to the solution - because people that should and can provide the valuable insight and direction choose instead to associate themselves with bullies and extremists, and undermine their credibility forever.
Consider first that this applies to Naturalized Citizens only as those were the immigrants with parents overseas.

Now to immigrate to the US on your own would be through a work related visa such as having a skill in demand. This means your 25+ by this time to have the educational skills to come. During the time for you to gain naturalization is 7-10 years on average. This means by the time you have the ability to petition mom and dad your 35+.

Now consider this. Mom and Dad are likely 55-65+.... which means they are barely of working age and as immigrants not accustomed to the US will likely never work in the US. This means they will not have the years paid into SS and Medicare among other things. Yet currently these elderly immigrants are allowed to come over and get credit waivers into SS meaning they never have to pay a dime but are able to collect if the moment they have a green card and are of age to collect. They also never paid into Medicare but get full medicare benefits all at the cost of taxpayers. Ontop of that on the same logic they can eventually apply for their brothers and sisters to immigrate which have kids and grandkids of their own who all come in. The cycle is insanely huge.

Now keep in mind this program DOES allow you to bring your parents but they don't gain full status and you MUST be fully responsible for them financially. They get a 1 year visa that is renewable no limit but will NOT become a burder to the taxpayers because they never paid into the programs currently they take advantage of.

Look at chain immigration today as this. Worker A come sto the US gets a green card. He applies for Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters. They all come over and Bro and Sis also have wifes, husbands, children, and those spouses have even more family. Bring in mom and dad and then you bring in an older generation as well who also petitions there kids and then grandkids, brothers and sisters.

Basically without ending chain immigration 1 immigrant brought in from a skilled job we needed bring in 9 more family members. Those also bring in more ontop of that and so forth.

Studies show that today 90% of our legal immigration into the US comes from Chain Immigration which starts with Mom and Dad of the 1 legal immigrant and spouses of brothers and sisters. Its a massive never ending always expanding situation that grows 10x faster then any other legal immigration.

    Re: Weaselman

    1. To be born a citizen your either born to a natural citizen (parent/s are natural citizens), your an immigrant citizen (naturalized citizen), or a legal child of an illegal which would keep them from being able to be petioned while they remain in the US illegally and w/o a 10 year ban (least w/o breaking the law and lieing).

This means basically yes only really applies to naturalized citizens and green card holders who ARE immigrants. They were given legal status to come, doesn't mean their entire family chain should be allowed to come as well because of 1 visa.

    2. If your married to a US Citizen yes you could apply also for immigrant parents of the spouse but that spouse is an immigrant. Again 1 visa for how many people should be allowed? refugee's also go through the green card process and finally eligible for citizenship also unless only a temporary visa which then yah got no longterm rights. All the others are also green cards which lead to potential citizenship. But still why should 1 visa grant more then 1 immigrant to come over? Why should immigrants have rights to bring extended family and aging adult family members?

    3. Yes at 21 you can petition but depending on your country of origin the wait is between 5-21 years to be granted family visa's. That is why I said 25+ when technically would be 26+ but hey, I was nice by 1 year.

    4. An immigrant who immigrates from 50-65, sure they make work a handful of years but compared to the average American starting work around age 21 they work less then half the time. They also come unskilled working low end jobs that wouldn't pay in anywhere near what they would cost in SS and medicare IF they even worked. Also a spouse is far different, you pay in for 40-45 years kinda covers 1 spouse.... but doesn't cover 2 parents. Its also considered a plus for a responsible family unit... which doesn't include extended family and aging parents.

Also you want your parents because they are YOUR family. However WE should NOT be responsible for them as taxpayers. It goes for 1 immigrant to come over to work, not to bring tons of family to leech and not work and pay a fair share before reaping massive benefits. This proposal allows YOU to have YOUR parents but YOU must be responsible for them financially if they aren't responsible for themselves. They should never be a liability to the American Taxpayers so you feel good having them there.

    5. Wanna bet? Check with SS. They will tell you right now immigrants of age through family chain immigration are waived into the SS program on the broad assumption that in their country they likely paid into a similiar program and shouldn't lose that. And Medicare goes w/o speaking, if your of age and legal you get on it now matter your status or if you paid in. Get your facts straight, I have mine straight and know specifically from the SS admin.

    6. Looking at years looks like a longshot but its already happening. As it stands now someone only needs a perm green card to petition which means within 2 years of arriving they can apply. Certain countries namely the ones we DON'T want entering are on a 5 year program in the name of diversity. So soon as perm greencard is issues they apply, before its approved they gain citizenship and it all goes through w/o a hitch.

But look at my wife for instance. She's an immigrant (legal) and I'm a veteran. She has 8 siblings 5 of which are married, her mother has 9 brothers and sisters and her father has 6. She's Filipino and the average family size is 7-9 children. Now do the math, just how quickly can that add up in 30 years ohh and its already been 30 years since this started in 1980 timeframe. The benefit is the Philippines happens to be the country with the longest wait for family visa's which is 21 years but consider similiar in countries what are right now 5 (some Muslim countries).

    7. You only need to accept financial responsibility for 2 years and they are ways around it as well easily done by a court such as claiming financial hardship from loss of a job after the immigrant arrives and your responsibility is waived yet they are allowed to stay.

Your simply not getting it. Each new arrival after gets a perm green card has the same new petitioning privledges from start. They can start the petition at that stage while need to wait for citizenship before can finish it. This creates what we know as chain immigration because while there are some limits per person each new immigrant gets those same privledges soon as they have a bit of time in the system.

But yah, dunno why I'm even bothering. Your just a pro illegal and pro mass immigration person bent on destroying this country. You won't accept because it doesn't suit your needs that what makes sense is 1 immigrant comes on a valuable visa and they bring spouse and minor children only which makes perfect sense. What doesn't make sense is allowing 1 skilled immigrant to bring 10 more who each brings 10 more and so on.

But you'll still disagree even with the solid proof that 90% of our legal immigration is chain immigration which started 25-30 years ago, that right there shows just how endlessly it keeps multiplying.
