Exactly. Unless those people are prepared to resist the power of the state and federal government and the force they can bring to bear, it ain't gonna happen. The State of California isn't going to just let them go and it's highly unlikely the Federal Government would sign off on it either.

Now if they were wanting to set up a new state as a "sanctuary state" where illegals were all alllowed, then I'm sure there'd be no problem.
I'm sure the state and fed gov wouldn't like it, but who cares? They're not doing what they're supposed to. The question is can the fed or state of Cal legally stop these counties if they want to secede? Can congress stop them? I thought the federal gov is only supposed to have the power the states give to them. Somehow its been all turned around. But that doesn't mean it should be that way, or has to be, or it can't be changed back.
Yes, I'm sure the State of California and/or the Federal government would NEVER do anything illegal to protect their own interests.

What I'm saying is, if the state and federal government don't want it to happen, it won't happen. The government will use force to make sure it doesn't - legal or not. If the State or the Feds don't agree with it and the proponents press the issue, they'll arrest the leaders and throw them in jail and use military force if needed.
Yes, the feds and state govs will try to get away with doing whatever they want. That still doesn't answer the question of what they can or can't do legally, according to the constitution, to prevent a state from seceding from the union, or counties seceding from a state.

But if we just give in and give up without trying, out of fear about what the feds might do, or out of passiveness based on an assumption of helplessness, then we probably deserve the country we will end up with.

San Bernardino County alone pays out $278,832,248 in total annual pensions to retirement association members.

Retirees from the County and other agencies in the county retirement association recieving pensions : 8,843

Total County annual salaries are $ 1,045,204,000. Current County employees: 19,954

    2010 figures.

131 retired employees make between $111,899,64, and $100,066.68

102 retired employees make between $111,956.52, and $123,820.44

108 retired employees make between $124,004.64, and $153,836.28

101 retired employees make between $154,290.12, and $290,901.96, with 39 of them making above $200,000.00

So, out of the 8,843 retirees, some 440 make up the bulk of the pension dollars.

No wonder the State is going Bankrupt!!! Some of these retirees are related, and/or married to each other, doing some double dipping.

Robert Peppler makes an UnderSheriff retirement, and his wife Susan Peppler, worked in D.C., after she worked for the City of Redlands as a Mayor. She will recieve retirement from The City of Redlands, and went to work in D.C., including her husbands Under Sheriff's pension.

Susan Peppler is listed under Federal about 2 paragraphs down on this U.S. Mexico thing. She was former Mayor of Redlands!

I am kind of curious how this Susan Peppler can triple dip out of Government monies. State, City, Federal, and her Hubby from the County. The Sheriff of San Bernardino County said he won't go after illegal aliens, just because they are illegally here either.

All of this attention, with only a mere Bachelors Degree. I know people who have that Degree, and they are unemployed, in the poor house, on Food Stamps. Huh! In de olden days, folks were happy with one person working, mainly the man.

Here is a pic of Susan Peppler and some Hispanic kids in Redlands.

This is about the Church Susan Peppler visited, and asked for help from.

    http://www.toddbensman.com/Bensman/Ligh ... hurch.html

The denomination has since enjoyed expansion throughout the U.S., including Texas and other states with large Hispanic immigrant communities.

reports of gun-carrying guards, and especially the tint-windowed SUV caravans for which the gates do occasionally open.

The Pentecostal-like denomination's supreme leader, the iconoclastic 71-year-old Apostle Samuel Joaquin Flores, is viewed as a messianic figure to be worshipped as a direct link to God and obeyed by church faithful in Mexico and abroad.

Joaquin's military officer father, Eusebio Joaquin Gonzalez, founded Iglesia La Luz del Mundo in 1926 as a breakaway from the Catholic Church. Taking the title Apostle Aaron, he proclaimed himself a kind of latter-day Moses directly empowered by God to restore true Christianity to a chosen people.

The Joaquin children are revered as princes and princesses

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Luz_del_Mundo

Among other data, he provided a detailed account of having been drugged and sexually abused as a minor by Samuel JoaquÃ*n.[14] According to the L.A. Times, days after his interview, Padilla was kidnapped and stabbed 57 times with a dagger.[15]

Here is one of my favorites Susan Peppler was a part of. She just decided not to fight the ACLU at all..

Supervisor Jeff Stone lays out plans for ‘South California’

By City News Service, on July 9, 2011, at 8:52 am

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone on Tuesday will detail his reasons for wanting the county and a dozen neighboring counties to break away and form the new state of South California.

Stone filed a five-page memorandum that will be on the Board of Supervisors’ agenda for consideration next week, enumerating what actions he says should be taken to create America’s 51st state.

The supervisor prefaced his de-annexation action plan with a description of things that have, in his opinion, been going wrong in California and pushing the state closer to the brink of financial ruin.

Stone cited a survey showing that California is ranked dead last in business-friendliness nationally and named a number of companies that have moved operations outside the state to escape high taxation and regulation, including Fluor Corp., Intuit, Nissan North America and USAA Insurance.

“As a result of these thousands of jobs leaving our state, those citizens waiting for this economic cycle to turn are in for a very big disappointment,â€

Will the voters be given the choice of becoming South California
    or West Arizona?
    Maybe Southwest Navada?

As soon as a new State was formed Hispanics would run for office and change all the rules and make So. CA just like N. CA. you can count on it. No Way would they allow a State to not take care of Illegals and their little American bundles of Joy.

From supe to nuts: Dividing California along political fault lines

Every once in a while, a politician comes up with an idea that’s so dumb it’s brilliant in a self-promoting way.

To most San Diegans, Jeff Stone might as well live in another state. He’s a Riverside County supervisor who’s perhaps best known for allowing his sister use of a county-owned car.

His vehicular miscue became a cause celebre for then-Assemblyman Joel Anderson, Stone’s opponent in a bitter 2010 Republican primary race for the state Senate.

During the campaign, Anderson pointedly introduced a bill prohibiting officials from letting family members use government cars. Stone got rolled, you might say.

The former Temecula mayor also had his good name besmirched by a felon who’d conspired with his wife, figure skater Tonya Harding, to maim rival Nancy Kerrigan.

After two years on ice, Jeff Gillooly wanted to change his name to Jeff Stone, a desire Mayor Stone opposed. “I have a name I want to protect,â€
