2 Arrested after Weapon Seizure in Matamoros

Tamaulipas state police seized grenades, guns, ammo, IDs and stolen vehicles.

MATAMOROS -Tamaulipas state police arrested two people after seizing grenades, gun, ammo, IDs and stolen vehicles.

The suspects are 29-year-old Jorge Julian Vera Juarez and 40-year-old Miguel Angel Vazquez Montelongo. The Tamaulipas government says they are part of an organized crime group in Matamoros.

In total, police seized five grenades, four rifles, 841 rounds of ammunition, 31 magazines, a bag of IDs for 11 different people and two vehicles. Neither of the vehicles had license plates.

The government says they were both stolen.
