28 Illegal Aliens Discovered in Rio Grande Valley Stash House

Release Date: February 3, 2021

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement discover a stash house containing 28 illegal aliens in Edinburg, Texas.

Yesterday morning, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents received information of a possible stash house operating in Edinburg, Texas. Agents requested assistance from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and upon arrival apprehended 28 illegal aliens comprised of men, women, and one unaccompanied juvenile.

The smuggled aliens were from Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, and Guatemala.

This was the second day in a row in which agents found nearly 30 subjects in crammed spaces. These types of incidents are of concern to authorities as the individuals are unable to social distance and rarely use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Agents provided the subjects with PPE and screened them for any potential illnesses and injuries.

Border Patrol will process all subjects accordingly.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
