Ling Liu and Wen Zhang own a restaurant in Carthage. Two hispanic men that are employees in that restaurant are living with the couple and their 4 year old child.

Sunday morning, Carthage police responded to a call from their home in 100 block of Woodmill Lane.

When police arrived, a man was standing over a lifeless child. Officers tried to resuscitate the child, but had no luck.

The child was taken to the hospital, where an initial autopsy was performed.

The child had bruises to the neck, jaw, arm, and ear. There was also evidence of sexual assault.

After interviewing the two men living in the home. Police got a written confession from 27 year old Rogerio Chaves Garcia.

Garcia is now behind bars, charged with capital murder.

Were they housing ILLEGALS for cheap labor?

This is the big question!!

Congress deserves to take their fair share of the blame.

THEY could have STOPPED this in one fell swoop rather than allowing this to continue for YEARS.

Man Confesses to Sexually Assaulting and Killing 4 Year Old Boy

4 Year Old Boy Sexual Assaulted and Killed







People who live in the town of Carthage Texas are shocked after hearing a little boy whose family owned a popular local chinese restaurant was brutally killed.
Police say the mother of 4 year old Joey Zhang-Liu called dispatch at about 3:30 Sunday morning screaming someone killed her son.
When they arrived the found the boy was blue and the immediately began CPR but he died soon after an area hospital.
Police arrested 27 year old Rogerio Garcia who worked at the Chengs Chinese Buffet and lived at the home with the family who also owned the restaurant.
Officers say Garcia has confessed. An autopsy determined the boy had a broken right arm, bruising on his ear and jaw, contusions around his neck and was also sexually assaulted.
Another man Jose Garcia Monreal was also arrested and put on INS hold. He too lived at the home.Police say the two are both here illegally.
People who often ate at the restaurant and played with the little boy say the news is devastating.
Rogerio Garcia is charges with capital murder, both men being held at the Panola Detention Center in Carthage.

Accused child rapist, murderer makes first court appearance

A Mexican national accused of raping and killing a child in Carthage, Texas made his first court appearance Monday.

Rogelio Chavez Garcia, 27, is charged with the capital murder of 4 year old Joey Zhang -Liu.

The murder has shocked and angered the community where the child's parents ran a chinese restaurant.

In court, Garcia stood quietly before District Judge Terry Bailey as an interpreter translated the proceedings into spanish. Police say Garcia has already confessed to the murder and sexual assault of Zhang.

Garcia was advised of his rights by the judge and appointed a Longview attorney fluent in spanish to represent him. Garcia is being held on a $12 million dollar bond.

"I sincerely feel that there's a place in hell reserved for people who assault and kill young children", said prosecutor Danny Buck Davidson.

Assistant Carthage police chief Jim Vanover immediately suspected Garcia, who lived with the Liu's, their son and newborn daughter at their home in Carthage. Garcia worked for them in their restaurant, the Cheung Gardens.

Garcia has admitted to the assault and murder, but so far, he has offered no motive.

"The parents want to know why. I would want to know why. But it's been my experience you never know. Some things have no rhyme or reason. I don't know why he did it", said Vanover.

Garcia could face the death penalty but a psychiatrist will have to certify that he would be a danger to society before the death penalty can be sought in Texas.

Funeral arrangements for Joey Zhang-Liu are still pending.
