ACLU Sues Border Patrol for Retaliating against Agent
From: ACLU NM
Today, the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico (ACLU-NM) filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas on behalf of a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent who was fired because of his personal political opinions. Plaintiff Bryan Gonzalez was an agent with two years of experience and excellent performance reviews when the Border Patrol terminated his employment after learning that Gonzalez held certain political opinions pertaining to drug legalization and immigration.

When personal opinion has the potential to affect your job, it's time for a job change. There should be a policy prohibiting anyone of mexican heritage from working at the southern border, for their own safety. They'd be easy pickings for cartels, especially if the cartels know they have family in mexico.

But, I'm sorry that he lost his job for expressing his views about drug legalization. That is wrong and most unfair. I also don't see how he could be fired for expressing comprehension of the fact that illegal aliens come here often times for jobs and economic benefits, since that is true.
I don't understand a Border Patrol firing someone for this UNLESS, it was about legalization which would end Border Patrol being able to confiscate drugs and have a finger in the pie of that foreign drug cartel controlled market. Legalization of the drug industry would shut the cartels down, it would evaporate drug-related smuggling across our borders, it would significantly reduce the number of illegal aliens coming here to run drugs and carry our money supply back to their cartels in other countries, it would end the drug violence in the US and probably in the countries of the drug cartels as well, and would enable Border Patrol to focus on securing the borders and stopping illegal immigration.
This firing makes me suspect that key individuals in Border Patrol are involved in the illegal drug trade and don't want to see it stopped by legalizing it in the US or Mexico.
I've always thought that Ramos and Campean were set up for prosecution by others in Border Patrol who were profiting from the illegal drug trade.
If this is the case, then every member of the US Border Patrol who knows about the corruption needs to start chirping like birds after a rain and tell all, show all and help US end this.
You must remember at all times that the only reason we have open borders is to keep the drugs flowing across the border. We don't have open borders for employers who want to hire illegal aliens, that's just the consequence of open borders. We have open borders because of the illegal drug trade.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Reason they use hispanic BP agents is that they speak spanish and can communicate with the illegals and drug runners. I say 1 hispanic for every 15 regular agents. Put troops on the border and there will be little need for talking.

Start teaching American border agents Spanish so that they will know if the illegals are trying to pull a fast one. Absolutely no dual citizens or "past" dual citizens should be allowed to work on the border. I would say his "past" dual citizenship was the main reason for him being fired though.
