This type of highway clean-up program is all around the nation. This should be done in all states but especially in the border states on the highways most travelled by IA smugglers, etc.

I remember a funny story awhile back. I don't remember the state, but the Ku Klux Klan adopted a freeway and got their sign. Many citizens were outraged, but it was legal. So, instead, the local officials got together and renamed the stretch of highway the Rosa Parks Freeway. he he

When I was at Virginia Tech, I was a member of NORML and we adopted a long stretch of road. We cleaned it regularly, took pics, and did all that was expected yet our sign was not forthcoming. We inquired about it many times and finally the city was sick of us so we got our sign. However, when we got there, the sign said Adopted by "MORML." The little sneaks found a way to prevent us from having a sign after all.

If they are upset over a tiny adopt-a-highway sign how would they react to some huge well-placed billboards---"Minutemen Support Community Betterment; Adopt-A-Highway"
