Can't get much more stupid then the above statement he needs to come to my area and view the changes in Texas. I certainly do not mind opinions or someone disagreeing but can't stand ignorance.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

California unemployment rate: 7.3% (and almost 9% in the Inland Empire), with a deficit of about $16 billion. Yeah, sounds successful to me.

Here is a little something from a web search about CATO.

The Cato Institute is a non-profit think tank with strong libertarian leanings, headquartered in Washington, D.C. Cato states that it favours policies "that are consistent with the traditional American principles of limited government, individual liberty, and peace."[1] Cato argues for the abolition of the welfare system, against the U.S. government pursuing an interventionist foreign policy, in favor of more relaxed immigration policies and for a more deregulated healthcare system.[2]
And also a part in their handbook

    Immigration
Cato staff have angered some conservative activists by strongly advocating the liberalization of immigration laws.[50][51]. The Cato Handbook calls for expanded immigration quotas and new visa programs for low-skilled as well as high-skilled workers, and for allowing more refugees to enter.[52] The handbook speaks approvingly of a policy of "immigration yes, welfare no" that resolves the tension between low-skilled immigration and the welfare state not by keeping immigrants out, but by letting them in and making them "ineligible for public assistance." It also characterizes the issues of "immigrant welfare use" as "often overstated."[52]
then compare with what was said by Dan Griswold

"America's changes will be less than we think. We've already become a more open, dynamic country," says Dan Griswold, an immigration expert with the libertarian Cato Institute. "What will happen to America is what has already been happening to California, Texas, New York City, and other economically successful regions."
So which is it? Give these immigrants public assistance or DO NOT?
And it is not a question of immigration ,but an invasion of people that come ILLEGALLY! It is also bankrupting some states.

Wow, we can all be like California or New York! I don't think so, we just spent a fortune escaping from California. When will I wake up from this nightmare?

This writer and the newspaper owners smoke $100 bills, they are worth $1.8 billion. See story here: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.h ... A9659C8B63

Why anyone would give a newspaper like this even one dime is beyond me.
