Laredo, Texas – Border Patrol agents from the Zapata station seized more than $2 million worth of marijuana Sunday.

While responding to reports of suspicious activity on a ranch near Lopeno, Texas, Border Patrol agents discovered a flatbed trailer hidden in the brush. A Border Patrol service canine alerted toward the trailer, suggesting the presence of hidden people or contraband.
The agents removed the trailer’s floorboards and found 181 cellophane-wrapped bundles containing marijuana. The marijuana bundles had a total weight of 2,890 pounds and an approximate street value of $2.3 million.

The trailer and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
