Brothers Involved In Brussels Attack Were Arrested Last Week

The two brothers allegedly involved in Brussel’s Tuesday terror attack were both detained in a police raid last week on ISIS members.

Khalid El Bakraou detonated a suicide vest within the city’s metro transit system and his brother, Ibrahim, carried out the attack in the airport. The rush hour attacks have left at least 31 dead and 270 injured.

Ibrahim was also arrested in June of 2015 and then deported a month later in July. The Belgian was notified that Ibrahim was captured in a police operation to find terror suspects.

Both Ibrahim and Khalid were than arrested in a March 15 in the Molenbeck neighborhood of Brussels fleeing from the scene of a deadly shooting, La Dernière Heure reported.

The Belgian media outlet reported they were arrested in relation a shootout in the Forest neighborhood of Brussels. Mohamed Belkaid, an Algerian illegal immigrant residing in the city, was killed in that shooting last week. Next to his body was an ISIS flag and an AK-47.

Two other men who were in the apartment they raided managed to flee, Dernière Heure reported.
