Thread: Chipotle workers quit ahead of immigration audits

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Workers have been leaving Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc in the nation's capital and Virginia since getting notice that U.S. immigration officials are auditing restaurants in the area.

I have been told recently by a few employees some other employers are laying off undocumented aliens, since word spread business are being checked for illegal workers across States. View the Unemployment website for vacant positions the proof is there.

Great news for the unemployed!

Corrupted employers should never know when they will be raided by ICE because they will be prepared for the raids. Possibly, advise undocumented aliens to not work for a few weeks. The good thing is employers never know the specific time they will be hit with a raid, so they will always be looking over their shoulders!!!

What would be nice is if they kept low prices and took some money away from the executive staff for making these stupid decisions.

Having owned a restaurant in Arizona I refuse to eat in a restaurant that is staffed predominently by Hispanics. I have my reasons which I won't state because I will be referred to as a racist.

That's ok Laughing, I won't eat in any restaurant.

Interestingly, Chipotle in the SF Bay Area is "hiring for all positions." LOL. The party is over.

"Put youth back to work " You guys need to see the ton of Americans over 40 are applying, fighting and have been waiting for these jobs.
I know because I'm out there too. Unemployed adults will work two or three
jobs if thats what it takes.

I despise the attitude that construction, trades or service jobs are for the kids, the poor or uneducated.

Millions if not tens of millions of us "older Americans" don't want a inside
office, desk job, or freaking nasty sales job. We are not accountants for
anyone but ourselves!

If I want a dish washing job next week I don't want to have to fight an illegal alien for it. Whether I am 16 or 79! And I don't care where the illegal alien dishwasher came from!

No disrespect but some time comments about construction, trades, and service jobs from some. And God Bless Them!

What needs to be done is keep sending in reports and actual observations to the feds. Flood them with calls and reports and they will eventually get the hint. Also use the press like the latinos do. Send letters to the editor, opinion letters, and the like. Same witht he local city council. Push for them to move tward suspending the business license of suspected employers who are hiring illegals. They can do it using the clause of the company operating in violation of a state or federal law.
