Christmas is a lonely time for many Latino migrants
Christmas is a lonely time for many Latino migrants
Miguel Perez-Phoenix Civil Rights Examiner
Phoenix Examiner - December 25, 2010
Phoenix resident Maria Moldonado came to the United States three years ago. She was working at a restaurant and got fired after an immigration rade. "I am sick of people telling me that I am illegal," she states. Arizona was a part of Mexico long before White people stole it." Ms. Moldonano, a single mother, has been forced to move herself and her three children into a homeless shelter. "They treat us like crap her. We get cheap government food and are often cold."
Erin Cavallo, an undocument student in the Maricopa Community College District, lives in a storage area just outside of Phoenix. "I live in a box. It's uncomfortable, but I have to do what I need to in order to survive." Ms. Cavallo plans to finish her school work and wants to become a nurse, but is being prevented from doing so because of her immigration status.
2010 was supposed to be the year of immigration reform. "There has been a lot of screaming, but nothing has happened," says David Valdez of Take Back Aztlán. "In 2011, we will protest and do what it takes to stand for our migrant workers." Mr. Valdez admits that with the Repubicans taking over Congress, positive steps towards immigration reform will be difficult.

I'd encourage everyone to leave a comment for the author when you have time. Someone in Phoenix may actually read this garbage.

Cheap government food? Thats more then any of us probably get from the government? If your cold, I hear Mexico is warmer this time of year.
Then the old whine about "arizona was part of Mexico before".... yah how many years ago was that? She didn't live in mexico since then of course or she'd be a legal citizen.
Needa let her know immigration reform is comming and soon... just not the reform she is hoping for. Maybe she can run home to mexico and cry for reform there.

That government dumps its problems on us and, as a bonus, gets major remittance dollars pumped into its economy.
Since there's apparantly no sense of social justice in Mexico, uneducated illegals probably don't even know that we bought that land. What they do know is that they can get jobs here. Lamar Smith's announced program of increasing E-Verify and worksite enforcement will begin to undermine the sense on entitlement that illegals so obviously carry around with them.

People tell you you're illegal because you're in our country in violation of our laws. Your presence here in violation of our laws, taking up space in our homeless shelters that are there to help Americans who need shelte, eating the food paid for to feed hungry Americans is stealing.
That makes you the whining loser thief, Ms. Moldonado. Neither you nor your 3 children are welcome here, and you will all be going home to live in a Mexican homeless shelter, eat Mexican paid government food and/or work in a Mexican restaurant or some other Mexican establishment. You can either go home the easy way on your own or the hard way under a Deportation.
And you exemplify the reason Americans stood up and fought to defeat the Dream Act. You think we want your 3 children to be put on a pathway to US citizenship? Raised by a whining, prideless, mooching, criminal, ungrateful, ignorant and arrogant mother who violated our laws, stole an American job, mooched off our charities and public assistance and thinks we stole Arizona?! NO FRIGGING WAY.
