Appellate court upholds life sentence for killer of Morristown boy

The conviction and life sentence of a day laborer who brutally murdered a Morristown boy in 2001 has been upheld by a state appellate panel, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi announced Thursday.

Public defenders for Porfirio Jimenez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, had tried to overturn the conviction by challenging details surrounding a search warrant and testimony of an expert witness.
