Thread: DHS Nielsen Endorses More H-2B Visa Workers 169 H-2B

To understand the primary cause of this, you need to look to the young American workers who are either upper classmen in high school and old enough to work these kinds of jobs and college students who of course are qualified to work these jobs, especially these jobs, tourist jobs, in beautiful beach and fancy entertainment and tourist areas. Why can't businesses hire them? Why don't they hire them? Number One reason is they aren't available for the whole season. Why aren't they available? The extended school schedule. If you want to reduce the call and whine for H2B visas, the solution is very simple and has nothing really to do with "visas", the cry for most of these visas is the result, not the cause.

The cause of this is the public and college school schedules. When I was in school, school started after Labor Day and ended 1 to 2 weeks before Memorial Day. We had no spring break or "winter break". We had snow days, but usually just 2 to 3 a year and those were built into the schedule. School started at 8:30 am and ended at 3:30 pm every day M to F except holidays. Some years depending on who was Governor we would have Good Friday off. We always had the Friday after Thanksgiving off. We had 1 week at Christmas including the holidays of Christmas and New Years. We got out at noon on Christmas Eve if that was a school day.

Ask the businesses, if we changed the school schedule so that all or most high school and college students of the United States were available from the third week of May to the first week of September, how many visas would you need then? And they'll say, "well, then, we'd only need them for the winter season, because we'd not only have students applying, we'd have teachers and other school personnel applying to earn supplemental income during their summer off-season."

Well, yes, of course you would.

CHANGE THE SCHOOL SCHEDULE BACK TO WHAT IT USED TO BE!

They get paid far less than there American counterparts. It's always been about the money. Trump once again with another broken promise, not that this one surprises me because he was always iffy on this issue to begin with. Ted Cruz nailed him on it during the primaries. Trump has had multiple opportunities to enlist the services of Kris Kobach for head of DHS who would have never done this, but instead opted for two globalists John Kelly who is a closet Hillary supporter and this bimbo who is a Bush flunky. That tells me all I need to know about Trump's poor judgment and his commitment to the borders. I would call for her to be fired, but it's not like Trump would replace her with anybody decent.

Yeah, I didn't know if people would want to change the school schedule back to where it used to be or not so these young workers can apply for and get these summer jobs, but I thought I would offer it and find out.

It doesn't matter what the wage is at a job you're not available to perform, does it?

If they paid $20 an hour, how many Americans in high school and college can apply when they don't get out of school until the 3rd week of June or have to go back to college, the 3rd week of August? ZERO.
