Media Research Center President Brent Bozell appeared on today's "Fox & Friends" to discuss how the media portray Tea Parties as hot beds of extremism and/or racism -- despite the fact Tea Parties have been peaceful affairs with no scrapes with the law -- while violence-plagued rallies held to protest the new anti-illegal immigration law in Arizona law are being defended in the media as "mostly peaceful."

About 45 minutes before that segment, the Fox News hosts mentioned a related April 26 story by NewsBusters contributor Scott Whitlock on the same topic.

A violent protest in DC occurred last weekend? I've heard absolutely nothing about it.

Did he misspeak and actually was referring to Phoenix?

I had to watch it again and again I totally missed that about an anarchists protest rally in DC this past weekend. I never heard a word about it..I will check if you find out something let me know...

I just thought it was referring to last months tea party compared Arizona last weekend...

Fair Trade Tea Party Stages Violent Protest in Washington

Yesterday, protesters from the divisive Fair Trade Tea Party clashed with D.C. police, as violent protests erupted when throngs of activists descended upon Capitol Hill.

The group, inspired by the larger Tea Party Movement, demonstrated in front of the nation’s capitol, each member carrying clenched fistfuls of tea bags, many of which were ethically-sourced from sustainable plantations from around the world, as a gesture against government inaction.

The demonstration took a nasty turn when a few frustrated protesters began hurling objects, including scalding cups of tea, at the faces of legislators when they entered or exited the building.

The Fair Trade Tea Party first gained popularity during the onset of the financial meltdown, claiming that the current recession is a product of inequities created by careless international trade policies.
