Juan Carlos Carrillo was arrested Sunday evening after fleeing the scene of a fiery crash in Escondido early Sunday morning. Carillo was allegedly behind the wheel of a 1995 Lexus when it smashed broadside into a Dodge Caravan and causing it to burst into flames, killing an 18 year old man trapped inside.

Carrillo has been charged with felony hit and run and driving without a license. His immigration status is not known, but he is not currently on an ICE Hold.

It may never be known if Carrillo was drunk when he hit the van since he was in hiding for 15 hours before police could find and arrest him.

According to Escondido Police, Carrillo and two of his passengers ran from the crash scene.

Mexican and illegal alien activists have been publicly demanding that Escondido Police stop enforcing strict drivers license requirements on Mexican citizens/aliens. Apparently many Mexicans believe they are above the law, or at least the laws in the U.S.

Escondido has a very high Latino and illegal alien population and also a very high rate of hit and run accidents over the past six years. The number of hit and run incidents have come down over the past few years as EPD and ICE have stepped up agressive enforcement of traffic and immigration laws, but the La Raza anarchists in groups like El Grupo, aided by the ACLU and anchor baby City Councilwoman Olga Diaz, continue to call the police "racist" and other radical left-wing tactics to try to get the city government to back off on enforcing laws against "Latinos".

The American citizens and leaders of Escondido are not backing down to the thug tactics and continue to push strong enforcement of our laws towards all residents, legal and illegal. As a well-known Patriot activist in Escondido often says, "No one is above the law, not even illegal aliens".
