Just when you thought it was safe to go out on the highway, another drunk driving illegal alien crashes. I wonder how much it is going to cost taxpayers for the emergency helicopter ride and hospital care.

Hopefully he will be deported and no longer endanger American drivers.

GASTON, Oregon — The driver of a car involved in a single vehicle crash Saturday night on Highway 47 about three miles south of Gaston, who walked away from the wreckage and was seen getting into another car and leaving the area, was arrested Sunday, according to the Oregon State Police.

Senior Trooper Dan Davis identified the suspect as J. Jesus Farias Llamas, 31, of Cornelius. He was charged with one count each of third-degree assault, a Class C felony; felony hit-and-run, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person. There is an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold on him. He was lodged in the Yamhill County Jail without bail and will be arraigned on the charges at 1:20 p.m. Monday in Yamhill County Circuit Court.

A passenger in the vehicle that crashed at about 6:15 p.m. was identified as Daniel A. Tristan Toscano, 57, of Cornelius. He was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland with serious injuries, the State Police said.

Alcohol and speed are possible factors in the crash.

Anyone with information about this crash should call the State Police Northern Command Center at 1-800-472-7888.
