Customs, Border Patrol on Alert After Matamoros Prison Escape

CHANNEL 5 NEWS has learned all Customs and Border Patrol personnel are on alert Tuesday night in the Rio Grande Valley.

Law enforcement sources say CBP officers and agents were put on alert after a prison break June 9 near Matamoros. Six inmates escaped.

There is no word yet if any of those inmates made it into the Rio Grande Valley.
