Three Dayton residents — including two brothers who have illegally entered the United States several times — have been federally charged with producing nearly 100 fake immigration, state and federal identifications, according to authorities.

Blas Martinez-Roldan, Miguel Martinez-Roldan and his wife, Angela Martinez, had initial appearances Wednesday in Dayton’s U.S. District Court.

All three were charged with three crimes related to allegedly producing fraudulent Social Security cards, U.S. Permanent Resident Identifications, Ohio driver’s licenses and IDs as well as California IDs, according to a criminal complaint filed in Dayton’s U.S. District Court.


Several forms of fake identification cards were seized from two Dayton residences as part of a United States Secret Service investigation. Three defendants have been charged in Dayton’s U.S. District Court with crimes related to their production and distribution. Staff Writer

The brothers will be detained without bond until a Tuesday hearing. Angela Martinez, an American citizen, was released on her own recognizance with conditions.

The 2½-year investigation was a cooperative effort among several local and federal agencies, according to Kevin Dye, Resident Agent in Charge for the Dayton office of the United States Secret Service.

“The Secret Service, in conjunction with our law enforcement partners and the (Greene County) ACE Task Force, conducted this investigation,” Dye said. “Law enforcement’s partnership was key in the pursuit of these defendants.”

Dye said more arrests and prosecutions are possible, including of those who purchased the IDs to possibly stay in the country illegally, get jobs, file taxes and get public assistance.

The other agencies involved included Dayton police, the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Social Security Administration, the Montgomery and Greene County sheriff’s offices, Sidney police, Beavercreek police and the Southern District of Ohio Financial and Electronic Crimes Task Force.
