Stay calm. Harry Reid has been known to lie and claim he has the votes (healthcare) in order to create momentum, and discourage opposition.

Until Roy Beck from NumbersUSA verifies this, stay calm and keep calling/faxing!

Here Is the real story of the Dream Act

Well, the open-borders people have spent millions of dollars on PR firms to figure out how to lie to and mislead the American people in the smoothest way possible -- how to seem to be saying things that they actually aren't. USE THESE TALKING POINTS

    Here's the real story:

No. 1: Not valedictorians -- or even necessarily good students.

Any illegal alien who can manage to meet the minimum requirements to graduate from high school or get an equivalent degree meets the first test.

No. 2: Primarily NOT teens or college students.

The Senate DREAM bill allows you to be up to 35 years old!

The House bill has no upper limit.

No. 3: Don't have to have come when a child.

An illegal alien can get this amnesty even if he didn't arrive in the U.S. until age 15. That's right -- he can spend his first 15 years learning the language and culture of his home country and developing all kinds of ties there and then come to the U.S. and later claim need for a DREAM amnesty because he supposedly has no country to go back to.

On a national Hispanic cable TV show last week on which a videotaped profile was run of a well-heeled-looking woman from another country bragging in front of New York City scenery that a few years ago she had illegally overstayed her tourist visa when her son was 15 so he could go to a U.S. college and pursue a U.S. career. DREAM would reward her and all the rest of people in the world who might think like her.

No. 4: Bill is open to gigantic fraud.

The bill is written so that the 2, 3 or 4 million illegal-alien applicants only have to CLAIM to meet the criteria. They don't have to PROVE anything.

The government has to build a case, one illegal at a time, and prove the claims on the application are false in order for the illegal alien to lose the amnesty. Can you imagine how many times that is likely to happen?

No. 5: DREAM does nothing to stop the behavior that put teenagers into their situation. It leaves the jobs magnet in place.

This amnesty has no enforcement measures at all. It allows employers to continue to hire illegal aliens, enticing millions more parents to bring their children here illegally and stay long enough for them to become high school students and demand another amnesty in a few years.

No. 6: DREAM leaves intact the chain migration system that will allow these 2.1 million illegal aliens to eventually send for millions more relatives.

Rather quickly, the amnestied illegal aliens would be able to get green cards for their parents. And millions of additional relatives would be able to start planning their applications and getting in line. This starts with adult siblings and moves on to aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

A large percentage of the illegal aliens in the U.S. today are extended family members of the illegal aliens who got amnesty in 1986 and also those in the six more-limited amnesties in the 1990s.

Key vote on 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' tomorrow

    Releted... From NBC's Ken Strickland
As of late this morning, it's still unclear if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has the 60 votes needed to start debate on a bill that would include a repeal of the ban on gays and lesbians serving openly in the military.

The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)" language is tucked inside the larger Defense Authorization bill. The vote on "the motion to proceed" to the bill is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:15p.

Moderate Republican Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, who often vote with Democrats on social issues, remain undecided on how they'll vote. As a member of Armed Services Committee, Collins voted with Democrats to include DADT in the defense bill. (And in case you didn't notice, the two are being heavily lobbied to support DADT by Lady Gaga, who's speaking at an event in Maine today.)

While Collins and Snowe are question marks, most Republicans are expected to vote against bringing it to the floor.

There's two primary reasons why: one about policy, and the other about politics.

On policy, Republicans say Congress shouldn't repeal the ban until the military has completed a review of the issue.

"Democrats have decided to put their own political interests ahead of the collective judgment of our military service chiefs, who are still in the midst of a study about whether [DADT] can be repealed without hurting combat readiness," Republican Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell said Thursday.

Virginia Democrat Sen. Jim Webb also subscribes to that view. He voted with Armed Service Committee Republicans last May to exclude it from the bill. If he votes with the GOP Tuesday, Reid will need at least two Republicans to produce 60 votes.

The other Republican objection is one of politics. McConnell and others feel that Reid is calling up Democratic campaign issues and forcing Republicans to vote against them through a rushed process. Reid said he also plans to attach an immigration measure to the defense bill that would give young illegal immigrants a path to citizenship--the Dream Act.

"Unfortunately, the Democrats' whole game plan over the past year and a half and through today is to tick as many items as possible off their liberal wish list while they have a chance," McConnell said.

But even if Reid is able to produce the 60 votes to get the defense bill to the floor Tuesday, he said last week that it is unlikely the Senate will able to complete its work on the bill before adjourning for the pre-election recess. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20 ... l-tomorrow

It sounds like this news is spurring us on. Keep the calls, emails, faxes going out to Congress, and to campaigns. Fill voice mail this evening.

Please call Senator Scott Brown (MA.) too. I just read that Dream Act amnesty proponents are camping out in front of his Boston office.

Don't forget to politely remind Senator Brown that during the campaign he said clearly he opposed amnesty and in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.

    His D.C. number: 202- 224-4543.
