CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A man living in Mount Vernon is headed to federal prison for reentering the country illegally.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 33-year-old Jose Alejandro Vasquez-Pacheco was deported to Mexico in 2009 after being convicted of operating while intoxicated three times between 2003 and 2007.

They say Vasquez-Pacheco came back to the U.S. illegally in 2010 and was arrested by immigration officers in Mount Vernon on March 17 of this year.

Vasquez-Pacheco pleaded guilty to one count of illegally reentering the United States after having been deported following a felony conviction on April 23, 2015. He was sentenced to sixteen months in prison.

Again - the media confusing people and then we complain about aliens not learning English language.

How can a Mount Vernon man be deported for entering country illegally? Mount Vernon is an American city, Mount Vernon citizens are legal.

How about, "MAN FOUND IN MOUNT VERNON CONVICTED OF ENTERING USA ILLEGALLY."
