Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Baltimore arrested an illegal immigrant who had been charged multiple times in the past with prostitution.

According to a statement from the ERO, the 49-year-old undocumented noncitizen from El Salvador was arrested near her residence in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The woman was arrested near Campo, California, on Jan. 23, 2004, and the U.S. Border Patrol granted her a voluntary return. She was sent to Mexico. She was then arrested four days later near Tecate, California, granted a voluntary return, and again deported to Mexico.

The Fairfax County Police Department arrested and charged her with prostitution on Nov. 18, 2016. She was convicted the following February and filed.

Then on Nov. 30, 2022, the Montgomery County Police Department arrested and charged her with sex trafficking and prostitution. The Circuit Court for Montgomery County in Rockville, Maryland, convicted her of sex trafficking in June, and she was sentenced to 8 years incarceration, followed by 2 years of supervised probation. The court suspended all but 18 months of her incarceration, and the remaining charges were dismissed.

In her latest arrest in Silver Spring, she was served a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge and will remain in custody of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency pending the outcome of her removal proceedings.

“Among the most heinous of her crimes is sex trafficking. We cannot allow such criminals to operate in our area without legal ramifications. ERO Baltimore will pursue and remove all noncitizen sex offenders attempting to operate in our Maryland neighborhoods,” said ERO Baltimore Field Office Director Darius Reeves.
