Immigration protesters barred from sidewalk at Pruitt's

An ongoing squabble between a Phoenix furniture store and group of immigration activists got a little more heated Saturday, when protesters boycotting the store were barred from its sidewalk.
M.D. Pruitt's Home Furnishings co-owner Roger Sensing obtained a temporary permit with the city this week that prevents people from blocking the sidewalk, said Larry Herrera, a right-of-way agent for the Phoenix Streets Department. Herrera said the permit expires Sunday.
For the fourth weekend in a row, about 70 day-labor demonstrators assembled near the store, occasionally retreating to the sidewalk to rally, Herrera said.
The feud began last month, when Sensing asked the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department to patrol the area near Thomas Road and 34th Street for undocumented immigrants. At least 24 people suspected of being in the country illegally have been arrested in the crackdown.
"Pruitt's hired off duty deputies to maintain the peace on their private property," said sheriff's spokeswoman Aaron Douglas. "If state law violations are committed, the deputies will take law enforcement action."
Salvador Reza, who orchestrated the protests, called the situation "questionable."
"They're using the law to circumvent the Constitution," said Reza.

If these protestors are actually causing harm to his business, wouldn't that be a RICO violation? They used it on the anti-abortion people - why not illegals?

Why can't I get anyone to pick up my ex-wife? She's an illegal immigrant living in Texas.
