Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are searching for an illegal immigrant they think fatally shot a coworker Saturday night at a Gila Bend-area ranch.

The Sheriff's Office thinks Orlando Canillo-Bello, 36, shot the victim in the head about 7 p.m. during an argument. He then forced another coworker into a vehicle at gunpoint and fled, the Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting reportedly happened on a ranch near Old U.S. 80 and Woods Road.

The suspect later dropped off the man in the vehicle with him and continued on his own, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputy Lindsey Smith said deputies have been searching through the night for the suspect.

They expect to catch him after a canine unit located one of his shoes, Smith said.

"Our guys are hot on the trail right now," she said.

Smith said the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement had previously deported the suspect out of California.

The 29-year-old victim was also an illegal immigrant, the Sheriff's Office said. His name was not released.
