MEBANE, N.C. (WGHP) -- The Alamance County librarian arrested for being an illegal immigrant is out of jail for the first time since her arrest.
Deputies released Marxavi Angela Martinez on bond Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m.
Last week, Martinez pleaded guilty in federal criminal court to using a dead person's social security number. A judge ordered her to spend 10 days in jail.
Martinez was previously in the custody of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but was transferred to Alamance County, most likely so she could post bond in her home county. The next step will be determined by ICE.
