01-31-2009, 10:25 AM #11When they ask about citizenship, one simply has to indicate that (the parents) are not eligible for the stamps due to their (immigration status) and their are no more questions after that. (it should be that at this point, the counselors have a duty to report this information to ICE..one could only hope)

Are the illegal aliens being 'assessed and counseled' on how to LIE on the food stamp applications???The flag flies at half-mast out of grief for the death of my beautiful, formerly-free America. May God have mercy on your souls.

This story reminded me of what happens in my grocery store: People using food cards make a big purchase first with the card. Then they have a second purchase (beer and booze) that they pay cach for. So our taxes are not buying their booze directly, but since we're paying for all their other groceries, we're paying for it indirectly. If I can't afford milk, I can't afford booze. It makes me nuts when I see it.
Oh, and those people using the cards, forget about them knowing English. Certainly they don't understand the term "15 items or less"!

A pseudo American, largely hispanic grocery within walking distance overrun with 4-5 kids speaking Spanish on almost every cart and I am getting sick of having to dodge these little maniacs or other shoppers (non-English-speaking) who own every aisle. If I run in there, it has to be prior to 11 a.m. when the masses arrive for hot lunches at the deli counter, and schools let out. While some men pull out a huge wad of cash checking out, the women with the screaming kids usually pull out food stamps and coupons and vouchers. While I would love to call ICE, I have absolutely no proof this store is hiring illegals, so I grin and bear it and am doing my best to learn some Spanish during every shopping experience.
