Man faces charge of molesting girl, 5

Police say that mother, son subdued 19-year-old attacker until officers arrived

A woman saw her 5-year-old daughter being molested early Friday morning in their Northwestside home, pulled the man from the child and with the help of her 18-year-old son subdued the attacker, police said.

The 44-year-old mother and her son held the man as an older daughter, whose age was not immediately available, called police, investigators said.
Police arrived at the residence and arrested the suspect, identified as Jesus A. Valenzuela, 19, on preliminary charges of child molesting and burglary.

Police said the mother, who is not being identified by The Indianapolis Star to protect the identify of the 5-year-old girl, woke about 4:20 a.m. and found a sliding glass door at the residence had been opened.
The woman then found the intruder assaulting her daughter.

She first grabbed the man and pulled him away, police said. When the man tried to flee, her son helped her hold him while her older daughter, who was sleeping in the same bedroom as the 5-year-old but who was not attacked, called police for help.

Officers found a bracelet, necklace and battery charger from the residence in Valenzuela's pockets, investigators said.

Police said Valenzuela refused to answer their questions, and they could not determine where he lives.

The 5-year-old girl was treated at Riley Hospital for Children and released.

Mother Interrupted Assault In Child's Bedroom, Police Say

INDIANAPOLIS -- Police said a woman interrupted a 19-year-old man's rape of her 5-year-old daughter and, with the help of her son, held him in her home until officers arrived early Friday morning.

According to police, Jesus Valenzuela (pictured) entered the home, located in the 6000 block of Sunwood Drive on the city's northwest side, and raped the girl in her bedroom.

The girl's mother told police that she awoke at about 4:30 a.m. and found the home's patio door open. When she went to check on her children, she found Valenzuela raping the 5-year-old, police said.

Police said the woman pulled Valenzuela off her daughter and yelled for help from her 13-year-old daughter, who was asleep in the same bedroom, and her 18-year-old son, who also was asleep in the home.

The 13-year-old called 911, and the son arrived to help his mother, police said.

"Of course, the suspect is trying to get away. The 18-year-old son arrives, and they're able to subdue (Valenzuela) and hold him there for the police to come and get," Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said.

Police said Valenzuela refused to answer investigators' questions, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported. They said he is a Mexican national who may be in the U.S. illegally.

Authorities said they found property that belonged to the children in Valenzuela's pockets.

Police said that in the home, they found items that they believe Valenzuela dropped after stealing them from a vehicle down the street.

He was being held Friday on felony charges of child molestation and burglary, police said.

Jean, thanks for the link. I just watched the video and this is disgusting. However, it is not new. I've only been posting articles for a couple of weeks and can't believe the number of murders, robberies and rapes that are being committed by illegal immigrants. This has to stop.

I called and got a hold of the reporter Kevin O'Neal at (317) 444-2760. He said he had no idea of the immigration status (and it seemed to me that he wasn’t that interest in finding out). I told him I’m compiling statistics on crimes committed by illegal aliens and I routinely call reporters who break crime stories and don’t report immigration status on the perps if there is any reason to believe the crime might be committed by a foreign national. I asked him to update the story if the immigration status determines that the perp is an illegal alien. He didn’t seem all that interested in pursuing the story much further. Anyway, he did give me the central number of the Indianapolis police Dept. at (317) 327-3811. I called and got a desk sergeant. He didn’t know much about the crime or perp but he made sure to ask me why I wanted to know. I told him the same as above. So he directed me to the Media Relations Department at (317) 327-3424. I called but only got voice mail. I left a voice mail stating them I wanted them to return my call about this crime. I’m sure they won’t but I will call again on Monday (7:30-4:00) and see if I can find anything out. If I pry anything loose, I’ll post.
