Thread: Mattis OKs up to 4,000 National Guard troops for border

If the fear that someone might make a mistake is enough to bring our government to its knees, we are doomed. Our military is supposedly trained to fight. We can send them to other countries to defend borders and facilities, but on our own soil they can't be trusted? Washington needs to wake up!

Depending on the circumstances, it would be too bad, but we have a border and our government has a responsibility to secure it by all means necessary, whatever it takes. If some lives of foreign invaders are lost, then that's part of the risk of attempting to enter the US in violation of US immigration law. This isn't a baby shower, this is a military operation to seal the US border with Mexico.

I'd say the "whatever it takes" comment could be applied to a lot of our failures on illegal immigration and border security. Unfortunately, we have a long history of not doing "whatever it takes" to solve our problems.

Talking about what should be and what actually is can sometimes be a waste of breath.

Of course I do! Just because I'm attempting to explain why I don't think you'll see very many, if any, armed NG troops does not mean I don't support it. Heck, the things I would actually support to secure our border would probably surprise you.

Okay, good, now it's time to stop "wasting breath", and let the military do its job quickly and quietly.
