Mitchell proposing Arizona-style immigration law

CLINTON — Rep. Bill Mitchell R-(Forsyth) is proposing passage of an Arizona-style immigration law in Illinois. Mitchell was in Clinton recently during a trip he made around his district on the issue.

Arizona law enforcement officers now have the authority to verify residency status of suspected illegal aliens. The state is suffering under the enormous cost of supplying illegal aliens with state services. The Arizona health care system has been under severe strain for some time because of the cost to treat uninsured illegal aliens.

Mitchell has launched a petition drive to support tougher immigration laws in Illinois. “The state is broke, yet we continue to spend billions of taxpayer dollars on welfare for illegal aliens,â€
