Tancredo Slams Hillary over Pro-Illegal Alien Remark
Asks her to retract comment
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today slammed Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) for a comment she made regarding illegal immigrants at a recent event in Nevada . According to news reports, after an event participant told Clinton that his wife was an illegal alien, the Senator responded, “no woman is illegal.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Thank you Tom Tancredo for sticking up for the American people. To an average American citizen like me, it seems like Hillary is saying that she cares more about the people who are in the country illegally than about legal, tax paying Americans. It feels like a betrayal. I pray she doesn't get elected.

it's time to set aside the identity politics .....
I'm an American of Hispanic heritage( and I'm saying such for purposes of this post) but I have never bought into the "identity politics" so pervasive in our society. I truly believed and was taught by my parents that we should be judged and judge others by their merits and
NOT on the color of skin, ethnicity etc. I have taken that lesson from MLK and my parents to heart. I refused to identify my ethnicity or race on any employment application, college application or any form that asked those questions. I'd like to think our society has moved on from that....and I don't play that game. I've taught my children to do the same. When someone asks me where I'm "from" I usually proudly say, "the born in the land of Lincoln, and now a proud resident of the Commonwealth of PA".
It really bothers me that so many "Latinos" have made a career out of identity politics and many have worked the "diversity" bandwagon to get grants, loans, scholarships to start ethnic-based business groups, advocacy organizations, etc. In my book, an honest businessperson is the same no matter their racial/ethnic background. Why the need for separate ethnic based Chambers of Commerce, bar associations etc. Let's move beyond that. If anything, I won't patronize businesses that claim to belong to these separate race/ethnic based groups. If you can't move beyond that, then you won't have my patronage.

Beautifully said...Legalatina.......Thank-you......I also have wondered about the Latino Chamber of Commerce....Black Colleges...why can't we have just an American Chamber of Congress....
Again....Thank you for the above post..... :PThe difference between an immigrant and an illegal alien is the equivalent of the difference between a burglar and a houseguest. Well said, legalatina! You are a TRUE AMERICAN!
I am a minority too, and like you, I am color-blind.
I believe Tancredo once said that if he were elected President, one of the first things he would do is outlaw all the race-based caucuses in Congress. I thought that was a spendid idea and a good way to unite all of us. The only thing these race-based institutions do is further DIVIDE US. It just makes no sense at all, and I've often wondered how we could let this go on for so long.
This also spills over into our cultural side. Why do we have a Latino movie awards? Why is there a BET channel? Why do our schools have Latino Clubs? Chicano Clubs? Why are there no Caucasian Clubs? God forbid the Academy Awards decides to change its name to the Caucasian Movie Awards! Can you imagine the backlash on that? But Latinos can do it and no one says anything coz we are all too "PC."
Well, enough is enough. Like you, I refuse to use my minority status to separate me from the rest of the Nation. We are "One Nation, Under God."
Kudos to you, legalatina!PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.
